27-year-old U.S. Army Soldier Jose Arellano was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Saturday night after police say he was involved in a brawl with multiple other individuals, including other soldiers, near 2nd Ave & Broadway in downtown Nashville. Court records show he told officers he was upset that one of the other brawlers had “called him a pussy” after which he became confrontational and attempted to provoke another fight and had to be held/pulled back by officers and other individuals. He continued to be combative and was eventually taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct. Arellano is free on pre-trial release.

| Officers responded to a fight in progress in the area of Broadway and 2nd Ave S. Upon arrival, one of the defendant’s companions appeared to be engaging in a physical altercation with other individuals. While attempting to separate the parties and investigate the incident, the defendant continued to be confrontational with other individuals in the immediate area.
He had to be pulled/held back by other individuals and arresting officers. He was warned by officers, but again became confrontational with other individuals and appeared to be attempting to provoke a fight. His behavior was preventing others in the immediate area from carrying on lawful activities. Defendant stated that his behavior was because he was upset that another individual “had called him a pussy.” The defendant was not issued a citation due to his behavior being likely to continue. |
