Two Fort Campbell Soldiers charged in DUI crash that took down utility pole — Diego Loza & Garrett Edwards

23-year-old Fort Campbell soldier Garrett Edwards crashed into a utility pole on the Shelby Street entrance ramp to I-24, knocking it over. The car he was driving belonged to his roommate, and fellow soldier, 21-year-old Diego Loza. Both were heavily intoxicated, according to police, and Edwards admitted to consuming “5 or 6 Miller Lite beers”. Edwards blew a 0.157 BAC when tested. Edwards was charged with DUI, and Loza was charged with DUI per se, as he was the vehicle owner, and knowingly allowed Edwards to drive his vehicle while intoxicated. Both were freed on pre-trial release.
