54-year-old Terrell Thornhill is free on a $15,000 bond, after being booked into the Metro Nashville jail on outstanding warrants charging him with domestic assault and violating an order of protection. Court records allege on November 27th Thornhill’s ex-girlfriend, Tia Renee Blanton, reported the pair got into an argument at her apartment and she was struck in the face during a scuffle. Officers documented visible injures to the victim, and verified she had an active order of protection with which Thornhill had already been served. Thornhill was released on bond after the state-mandated 12-hour hold for domestic violence charges.

| ON 11/27/2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 0015 HOURS OFFICERS RESPONDED TO 231 REP JOHN LEWIS WAY N FOR A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE. UPON ARRIVAL OFFICERS MADE CONT ACT WITH THE VICTIM, MS. TIA BLANTON, WHO STATED HER EX-BOYFRIEND, MR. TERRELL THORNHILL, ASSAULTED HER. MS. BLANTON STATED THAT MR. THORNHILL CAME OVER TO HER APARTMENT AND DURING THE COURSE OF A CONVERSATION BECAME AGITATED WITH MS. BLANTON.
MR. THORNHILL GRABBED MS. BLANTON AND THE TWO BEGAN SCUFFLING BRIEFLY BEFORE THEY FELL TO THE GROUND. MS. BLANTON STATED SHE BELIEVES MR. THORNHILL STRUCK HER IN THE FACE THOUGH SHE IS UNCERTAIN HOW SHE WAS STRUCK (OPEN HAND OR CLOSED FIST) OR HOW MANY TIMES SHE WAS STRUCK. OFFICERS DID OBSERVE VISIBLE INJURIES TO MS. BLANTON’S FACE INCLUDING SCRATCHES TO HER FOREHEAD AND CHEEK. OFFICERS OFFERED MS. BLANTON ASSISTANCE WITH COUNSELING, SHELTER, ASSISTANCE OBTAINING AN ORDER OF PROTECTION, AND PROSECUTION. MS. BLANTON ACCEPTED PROSECUTION AND STATED SHE ALREADY HAS A TEMPORARY ORDER OF PROTECTION IN PLACE. OFFICERS VERIFIED THE TEMPORARY ORDER OF PROTECTION WHICH WAS ISSUED ON 11/22/2021, SERVED ON 11/23/2021, AND EXPIRES 11/22/2022. PHOTOS OF MS. BLANTON’S INJURIES WERE TAKEN. |
