On 1/5/2022 officers were dispatched to 626 Main St to check the welfare of an individual who was making employees call 9-1-1 for him saying it’s an emergency. Officers arrived and were directed to the individual and began speaking to him. officers immediately noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from his person and his words were extremely slurred making it difficult to understand him.

Officers were asking the man, later identified as Mr. Timothy Odom, what the emergency was. He began laughing and started talking about his phone not being charged. He then began saying it’s an emergency because of his phone, and also, he stubbed his toe.

Officers asked Mr. Odom multiple times what the emergency was, and he kept repeating himself, then he said he actually wanted a tow truck to take him home, although he did not have a vehicle. officers asked him to step outside the restaurant at this point. Mr. Odom was uneasy on his feet, was swaying from side to side and could not walk in a straight line.

While exiting the restaurant Mr. Odom stated he drank “a lot” of beer, alcohol, and snorted cocaine this evening. Officers then asked Mr. Odom for consent to search the backpack that he was carrying, and he stated officers could search it. While searching the backpack officers located two red straws. As officers located the straws, Mr. Odom stated he used them to snort cocaine this evening. Officers then took Mr. Odom into custody.
