26-year-old Austin Guy Booth, a visitor from Virginia, used a police badge to get the attention of patrons inside Miranda Lambert’s Bar in downtown Nashville before he assaulted them as they came down the stairs.
Metro Nashville Police working the Entertainment District Initiative in downtown Nashville Friday responded to a fight in progress at 308 Broadway, where 26-year-old tourist Austin Guy Booth was fighting other patrols and they came down the stairs. Officers observed Booth assaulting yet another patron as they arrived. Booth refused to comply with commands to stop and had to be taken to the ground in order to detain him. He then began spitting incessantly inside the patrol car and out of the window at people walking by.
While in custody, Booth began to make threats directly toward officers to assault them. Venue security advised Booth was flashing a police badge to patrons as he was starting the altercations with them. A search of Booth’s wallet revealed a law enforcement badge. Once a booking, Booth refused to exit the vehicle on his own.
Austin Guy Booth, of Twin Oak Drive in Midland, VA, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on June 18th, charged with disorderly conduct. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $1,000 and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave him pre-trial release from their facility.
