Morton’s smelled like a good deal — until Stephen Stanton got stuck with the bill

57-year-old Stephen Craig Stanton and three friends walked into Morton’s The Steakhouse on Church Street in downtown Nashville Friday night, enjoyed their dinner, and racked up a bill totaling $1,042.27. Three of the individuals left the location, leaving Stanton behind. When confronted by the dining manager, Stanton advised he would not pay for the bill as he did not have any money. Police responded to the scene and took Stanton into custody for felony theft of services.

Stephen Craig Stanton of Claiborne Street in Nashville, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on September 24th, charged with felony theft of services. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $2,500. The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave him pre-trial release from their facility.
