Takiyah Thompson charged with DUI after late night crash on I-24

38-year-old Takiyah Thompson is charged with driving under the influence of an intoxicant after first responders pulled her from the driver’s seat of crashed white Nissan 300 just after 2 a.m. Sunday on I-24 East. She reportedly smelled of alcohol and admitted to consuming one drink earlier in the evening. She couldn’t remember how the accident occurred and performed poorly on the field sobriety tests that were able to be administered due to her being unable to stand without assistance. She declined medical assistance or transportation and was charged with DUI.

Francisco Sanchez charged in strangulation of girlfriend

Mirian Suyapa says she was having an argument with her boyfriend, 36-year-old Francisco Sanchez, outside of their home, and she went back inside to end the argument and laid down on her bed. A short time later, she says Sanchez burst into the bedroom and climbed on top of her, and placed both of his hands around her neck, applying pressure until she had difficulty breathing and became light-headed. Her daughter came into the room and physically removed Francisco from her, and called 911. Officers documented bruising around the neck and chin of the victim.

Louisiana Tourist Amos Bennett admits to assaulting wife in downtown Nashville Hotel

54-year-old Amos Bennett and his wife, Katie Bennett, were visiting Nashville this weekend from Louisiana when Metro Nashville Police responded to their room at the Drury Hotel downtown for a domestic disturbance call. Amos met officers as they arrived and stated he became upset with his wife and kicked her in the knee while she was sitting on the ground. Officers entered the room and found his wife sitting on the ground, crying in pain with an obvious injury. She was transported to centennial for treatment, and Amos was transported to booking, where he was charged with domestic assault with bodily injury.

Rose Emegbagha charged with assault after attempting to illegally evict a roommate

Nonye Ibeneme says he came home on Sunday, and his roommate, 37-year-old Rose Emegbagha, blocked him from entering the door and told him he didn’t live there anymore. Rose reportedly used her body to block his entry into his bedroom door and shoved him as he entered anyways, as he did still live there, and no proper eviction paperwork has been filed with the courts. Police arrived and charged Rose with domestic assault and transported her to jail.

David White joked and laughed throughout DUI arrest after West Nashville crash, per police

25-year-old David White was involved in a crash on Old Charlotte Pike late Saturday night and called his brother for assistance. His brother then contacted Metro Nashville Police, who responded to the scene and located White, who appeared to be intoxicated with bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Officers say White laughed and joked throughout the entire interaction and admitted to consuming “two alcoholic beverages” hours before the crash. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to booking and charged with DUI.

Jody Samford threatens Black tenants with a handgun & racist remarks

53-year-old Jody Samford faces two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he pulled a handgun on a couple who rented a room from him and stated, “you’re about to get your black ass shot!” The victims, Calvin Foxx and Princess Scott, were recently told they needed to move out of the home, and Princess was having a discussion with Jody’s wife, Pamela Samford, near the front door of the home on October 1st. Calvin exited the bedroom after hearing the two talking and noticed Jody Samford was holding a black and purple handgun, which he says was pointed at her, and overheard Samford make the verbal threat to Princess. Calvin says Jody then pointed the handgun at him and stated, “you will be leaving one way or another!”

Jody’s wife, Pamela, would never admit to witnessing him pointing the handgun but eventually confirmed her husband did own a black and purple pistol. One of Pamela Samford’s social media profiles from 2021 has the tagline of “Mature couple ready for playing.” (images inside…)

Stefon Bristol charged in repeated assault of his fiancée

Justine Armijo says she was having an argument on Saturday afternoon with her fiancé, 23-year-old Stefon Bristol. Armijo says Stefon grabbed her by the chin during the argument and began to yell at her. She asked him to stop because she still had bruises from their last incident. He reportedly stopped but then pulled her from the bed onto the floor and punched her in the chest. She says he then slapped her in the face before he left the apartment to go to work.

DUI: Jonathan Workman rear ends Nashville Fire engine at 8 a.m. on a Saturday

Just before 8 a.m. Saturday, 33-year-old Jonathan Workman was the driver of a vehicle that struck the rear end of a Nashville Fire Department engine near Haywood Lane and Nolensville Pike. Officer arrived and immediately noticed the smell of alcohol coming from Workman’s breath, along with his glossy eyes and slurred speech. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and would later blow a 0.127% BAC on a breathalyzer.

Booster Club Arrest: Janiyah Buchanan busted

19-year-old Janiyah Buchanan was one of several young women caught concealing items in their personal bags from the Forever 21 store inside Opry Mills Mall on Saturday. In total, the group took approximately $700 in merchandise, which police were able to confirm via the store’s security video, which they watched while Mall Security detained some of the suspects in the parking lot. Buchanan did not qualify for a citation as she had an outstanding warrant from a May theft where she, along with other co-defendants, took over $500 in merchandise from the Burlington Coat Factory in Madison.

Caleb Krantz charged with harassment of (ex) girlfriend; making threats via phone

20-year-old Caleb Krantz was arrested this week on an outstanding warrant charging him with the harassment of Kara Hawkins, who was described as his ex-girlfriend in the July arrest warrant, but who is described as his current girlfriend again currently on social media. The warrant details that on July 15th, Hawkins returned to their shared home on Old Clarksville Pike with a moving truck to pack her things and leave the home. She says she called him before she arrived, and he threatened her, saying, “I’m gonna f*/k you up” if she continued on her way there. She says that due to the previous history of domestic violence with Krantz, this placed her in fear for her safety. A recording of the threat was saved.
