Jarrod Smith drunk and at the wrong hotel in Nashville

30-year-old Jarrod Smith was stumbling through the lobby of the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Nashville Airport just after 10 p.m. Thursday, and staff alerted police when he could not stand on his own. He was extremely intoxicated and stated he had a room at the hotel. The front desk staff stated he was not a registered guest at this hotel and wanted him escorted off the property due to his state of intoxication. Officers attempted to find him alternative arrangements, but he was unable to contact anyone to pick him up, and he refused medical transportation. Smith was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

Larry Dorsey charged with illegal sale of alcohol from cigar lounge on Jefferson Street

38-year-old Larry Dorsey was booked on two outstanding citations this week from the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission. TABC visited his Obsidian Cigar Lounge on Jefferson St in November. At that time, servers sold an undercover agent seven unopened bottles of liquor, and another sold an agent a Jack Daniels drink. Dorsey was charged with the unlawful sale of alcohol without a proper license and illegal storage of liquor for sale.

Pamela Truter admits to drinking prior to rolling her SUV on I-24

21-year-old Pamela Truter was in a crash on December 16, and responding officers located her leaning against a wall near her rolled-over Nissan Xterra SUV. She had to be transported to a hospital for her injuries, and she admitted to drinking prior to driving. Officers say she performed poorly on the field sobriety tests that were able to be conducted from a stretcher. Due to her hospitalization, she was issued a citation charging her with DUI, and she was booked on that citation this week.

Justin Taylor charged in theft of Chrysler Aspen

40-year-old Justin Taylor was found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle on Nolensville Pike after he pulled out in front of a patrol vehicle, nearly causing a wreck. After running the plate, officers realized it returned to a stolen vehicle and initiated a felony stop and arrest. Taylor claimed he was in the process of buying the truck from his boss but was unable to provide any paperwork, and the vehicle owner recovered the vehicle from the tow-in lot.

Dirie Abshir hits wife in face as 12-year-old son watches the assault

41-year-old Dirie Abshir is charged with domestic assault after his wife, Sahro Osman, punched her in the face during an argument on January 13. Though the initial call came in as a person with a gun, the victim denies that a weapon was present. His 12-year-old son confirmed the assault, telling police that his father hit his mother in the face. Officers documented a bruised right eye on the victim and took Abshir into custody.

Seafood Sensation scores 61, was cooking food in home kitchen, using bucket to wash dishes, sink with no water

The owner of Seafood Sensations in Antioch told a Health Inspector Thursday that he cooked 20 pounds of rice in the kitchen of their home and brought it to the restaurant to be served to the public. Additional factors that contributed to the score of 61 included being open without approval or any permits, thawing raw chicken on a table, having cooked rice four days past the last use date, steamed food not at temperature, having no running water at the dish sink, no sanitizer or bleah at dish sink – the owner stated was using a bucket of water to wash dishes.

Marijuana smoke was still rolling out of the crashed car when police arrived — Tyia Bonner arrested

28-year-old Tyia Bonner is charged with felony drug possession after crashing her vehicle on Maplewood Trace, and officers reporting that marijuana smoke was still rolling out of the vehicle when they arrived at the scene. A “large bag” of marijuana was in plain view, and a search revealed more “large bags” of marijuana, totaling 13.6 ounces. An additional 5 ounces of “synthetic marijuana” was located, along with 100 plastic bags, three scales, and $413 in cash.
