27-year-old Darren Anders was charged with DUI, being the reason for a crash on 02/17/2023 at Thompson Ln and Briley Pkwy. This is Anders’s third time being arrested for DUI, with convictions in 2018 and 2019. When officers arrived on the scene, medics stated that they believed Anders was intoxicated. Officers observed him swaying and losing balance. Anders displayed pinhole pupils, which is an indication of drug use. Defendant agreed to a field sobriety test which he performed poorly on, and was taken into custody. Anders refused a blood sample, so a warrant was obtained for a blood sample to be taken at the hospital.
