27-year-old Hannah Swingle was jailed on April 6th after driving drunk through a red light in front of police on Gallatin Avenue. As an officer was turning left at a light, he saw Swingle drive through a red light in her 2020 Nissan Kicks. When speaking with Swingle, she had slurred speech. The officer asked her for her license and insurance, and she only provided her license. The officer asked again if she had insurance, and she said “yes” but didn’t show the proof. The officer asked Swingle if she had anything to drink, and she said that she had, so she was advised she would have to do sobriety tests to be able to leave freely. Swingley agreed to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and was taken into custody.

While on the way to booking, she kept asking when she was going to be able to perform the sobriety tests and denied ever driving the car. The officer told her that he saw her driving the vehicle and she had already performed the sobriety tests, but Swingle insisted that she hadn’t. She asked where her phone was several times despite the officer repeating how it was in his possession. At the time of her arrest, she was out on bond from a December DUI charge.
