Joshua Jones makes threats to “shoot up a school or church”; upset over his coverage on Scoop: Nashville
33-year-old Joshua Jones called the non-emergency line in Nashville today and stated he had the money to buy a weapon and would follow through with threats he had made. He further stated he would “go shoot up a school or a church,” and didn’t care if kids were there or not. Jones told dispatchers he wanted to do this “due to a post on Scoop Nashville about him making threats,” referencing a 2019 story that detailed Jones calling in a bomb threat to St. Thomas Hospital and a 2020 story in which he threatened courthouse staff. Jones stated he would “stab any officer that would respond” and gave his full name during the call to dispatch. When officers made contact with Jones, he stated he would carry out the threats since they were going to arrest him.
Dude, that’s not your Uber — Michael Derenzis arrested
32-year-old Michael Derenzis got into a car on Broadway that he believed to be his Uber rideshare. The driver notified him he was in the wrong vehicle, but Michael refused to exit. The driver flagged down a Metro Nashville Police Officer who ordered Michael out of the car, and he still refused. He demanded to speak to the Uber driver in the front seat – but there was no one currently in the front seat. Due to his extreme level of intoxication, he was taken into custody. On the way to booking, Michael began to speak to his friend, who was not there in the patrol car with him.
Keith Gardner charged with reckless driving — 100 mph in a 55 mph zone
38-year-old Keith Gardner is charged with reckless driving after passing a police officer while traveling 100 mph on I-24 near Ellington Parkway, where the speed limit is 55 mph. He made abrupt lane changes and almost lost control when he ran off the shoulder of the roadway. A traffic stop was conducted and he was cited for reckless driving and driving on a suspended license (2nd offense).

32-year-old Kasey Whitmore is charged with the assault of a bouncer at Honky Tonk Central on April 2. Samuel Wells was escorting her out of the building when he says she punched him in the face. She was issued a citation charging her with assault.
Texandrue Monteague charged with reckless driving in Honda Civic
Police say 29-year-old Texandrue Monteague was driving his silver 2012 Honda Civic at nearly 80 mph on Elm Hill Pike, where the speed limit is 45 mph. Officers traveled at over 100 mph to catch up with him. A traffic stop was conducted, and he was issued a citation for reckless driving.
William Holden charged in brutal assault of Arden Belanger
21-year-old William Holden was jailed Tuesday on an outstanding warrant charging him with the brutal assault of Arden Belanger. The warrant details that Holden threw Belanger to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked him until witnesses were able to pull him off of the victim. Belanger suffered a bloody nose, facial lacerations, and a sprained ankle as a result of the attack.
