51-year-old Silas Lunsford pulled into the Shell gas station on Hillsboro Pike on June 6 and went into the store. Just outside was THP Trooper Reggie Edge, who was finishing pumping his gas. The Trooper went inside and was paying for his Cherry ICEE when he noticed Lunsford was visibly intoxicated and had trouble standing. Lunsford admitted to having two alcoholic drinks when asked by the Trooper and agreed to perform field sobriety tests, which he did poorly on. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI.
Silas Stroup Lunsford of High Point in Franklin, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on June 6th, charged with driving under the influence. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $2,500, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave him pre-trial release from their facility.
