DUI: Jawon Paige has 1 beer at home before getting into car accident

24-year-old Jawon Malik Paige was involved in a car accident on Nolensville Pike on December 20th. Officers responded and observed Paige was visibly intoxicated, and he advised them he had one beer at his house a couple of hours before the crash. He consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and provided a breath sample that resulted in 0.156% BAC. Officers noticed he had a prior DUI in Mississippi in 2020, and he was placed into custody for his second driving under the influence.

DUI: Cordero Moree smokes marijuana before driving through red light

29-year-old Cordero Moree drove through a red light on December 21st as officers patrolled Representative John Lewis Way South and Lafayette Street. They observed this, initiated a traffic stop, approached the driver’s side door, and noticed Moree fumbling with his belongings. He responded slowly to officers, advising them he had no license, and initially provided an unverifiable name and date of birth. He admitted to smoking marijuana in the morning and told them he was a painter who paints indoors without filtration, explaining why there was paint on him. Moree consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and was taken into custody for driving without a license and driving under the influence.

Cody Hunter drunkenly hits fiancé multiple times in face during argument

29-year-old Cody Hunter had an altercation with his fiancé, Amy Moore, at her apartment at Central Pike on December 16th. She was admitted to the hospital a few hours after the incident when officers arrived to speak with her. She advised them she and Hunter had a few alcoholic beverages, and an argument ensued. She stated Hunter began to push her, so she slapped him in self-defense. Then, Hunter pushed her onto her bed and jumped on top of her. Hunter then struck her in the face repeatedly, got off her, and fled the scene. Officers observed her black eye and a handprint on the right side of her face. Hunter was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault on December 21st.

Alexander Clavey argues with coworker, says he was going to “Whip his a*s”

41-year-old Alexander Joseph Clavet, an employee of Belle Mead Country Club, argued with a co-worker, Anthony Hedgepath, at work on November 28th. Hedgepath advised officers that the altercation was over construction work, and Clavet stated he was going to “Whip his ass” and started to follow him around. Clavet admitted this to officers and was cited for assault. He was booked on the citation on December 19th.

DUI: John Gregory has one drink at home before causing car accident on Christmas Eve

30-year-old John Gregory was involved in a car accident late Christmas Eve at Music Valley Drive near Logan’s Roadhouse. Officers arrived and spoke with Gregory, who was visibly intoxicated, and gave them two different stories regarding how the accident occurred. He consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and admitted to having an alcoholic beverage earlier in the day under Miranda. He was taken into custody for driving under the influence and implied consent on Christmas Day.

Windy Hyer steals neighbor’s mail, asks officers for ride to bus stop

45-year-old Windy Hyer flagged officers down on East Old Hickory Boulevard for a ride to the bus station because it was raining on December 23rd. They gladly offered to take her and opened the patrol car for her to enter. A third party stopped and notified officers that Hyer had the neighbor’s, Carmen Martinez’s, mail in her hand. Officers asked Hyer where the mail was from, and she said she was getting it for a friend and provided a name unrelated to the mail. Officers went to the residence listed on the mail and asked the owner, Martinez if anyone was allowed to take the mail, to which she responded no. Windy Hyer was taken into custody for the theft of mail.

Kathleen Bailey assaults husband of 13 years, tells police she “slapped him around”

72-year-old Kathleen Bailey had a domestic dispute with her husband of 13 years, James Mosely, at Scott Valley Drive on December 23rd. Mosely called the police, advising them that he and Bailey had a verbal argument that turned physical. Bailey could be heard yelling in the background as he called the police a second time to give an update on their situation. Officers arrived and spoke with both parties separately. They observed visible swelling on Mosely’s left leg, but he refused medical attention. He stated he was unsure how he received the injury but informed them that Bailey struck him repeatedly and that he was willing to prosecute. Bailey told them that she grabbed him by the shirt and that after he allegedly hit her, she “slapped him around.” Due to her admission and his visible injuries, she was taken into custody for domestic assault.  

Dajia Johnson violently assaults boyfriend over rent money

21-year-old Dajia Johnson had a scuffle with her boyfriend, Alan Tillman, at Wallace Road on December 27th. Tillman called the police, advising Johnson assaulted and strangled him. Officers arrived and observed visible injuries on Tillman’s neck, shoulders, chest, arms, and face as he answered the door shirtless, with ripped shorts on. He informed them that Johnson had been kicked out of her mother’s house and had been residing with him for about two weeks. Tillman stated they argued over her wanting him to return the money she sent him on Chime to assist with rent and bills. Then, while he was facing the closet in the bedroom, Johnson punched him in the back of the head and shoved him into the back wall of the closet, causing him to hit his face against the wall. He continued, stating she put her weight on him and punched him repeatedly. Then, she sat on top of him and strangled him with both hands, hindering his breathing. Alan stated his sisters arrived and got her off him. Johnson stated that Tillman’s sisters threatened her with a gun after Alan hit her. Officers searched the apartment and did not find the gun. Officers observed injuries to both parties, but ultimately, Johnson was deemed the primary aggressor and taken into custody for aggravated assault.

DUI: Lucas Lee has multiple drinks before crashing into light pole

22-year-old Lucas Lee was involved in a single-car accident at the Murfreesboro Pike and Arlington Avenue intersection in the early hours of Christmas Eve. Officers arrived and observed Lee’s vehicle in the grass median and a destroyed light pole blocking a lane. Lee advised them that he was at a bar and had consumed alcohol before driving. They observed him to be visibly intoxicated as they located multiple bottle caps for alcoholic beverages and a shot glass in his car. He refused to take sobriety tests and was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: ESPN’s Titans reporter Turron Davenport jailed after passing out behind the wheel

47-year-old ESPN Titans reporter Turron Davenport was jailed early Thursday morning, charged with his second DUI. Davenport is the Tennessee Titans reporter for ESPN’s NFL Nation. After drinking at a nearby bar, he reportedly passed out behind the wheel of his running vehicle near Demonbreun and 14th Ave South just before midnight. Officers blocked the vehicle and used a Nashville Fire Department vehicle’s horn to wake him up. He refused all commands to turn the vehicle off and drove off several feet several times before eventually unlocking the door so first responders could take control of the scene. Davenport admitted to drinking “a couple of old-fashioned” drinks before driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and agreed to a blood draw at Metro General Hospital. Police tell Scoop: Nashville that Davenport was convicted of a prior DUI in 2019.
