20-year-old Erickson Wayne Thole, of Belmont University, drove his silver Nissan Altima without activating his headlights near the Representative John Lewis Way and Korean Veterans Boulevard intersection late February 5th. Thole was doing 43 mph in a 30-mph zone with an expired Missouri license plate. Officers observed this, conducted a traffic stop, and approached the driver’s side to speak with Thole, who advised them that he smokes marijuana regularly in his car. Officers noticed the strong odor and told him that they were looking for things other than marijuana. Officers also said they would not charge Thole for the small amounts that they had found located in the multiple small labeled containers containing marijuana. Then, officers found ample amounts of paraphernalia and approximately 2.5 grams of Magic Mushrooms. Thole was cited for the violation. Thole was booked on the citation of simple possession on March 1st.
