38-year-old Josey Emerson Bullis called the police under the name “James Joseph,” stating that Christopher Ware had threatened him at gunpoint on Highway 70 South near the I-40 Entrance Ramp around 9:09 a.m. on June 21st. Officers called Bullis back and spoke with him again, during which he said that Ware pointed a Glock handgun at him. Bullis added that he did not want to press charges and was no longer at the location. After this, he told them that Ware threatened to shoot the police. When officers arrived at the ramp, they spoke with Ware, who stated he never displayed a weapon and did not wish to harm police. Officers checked with the dispatcher and discovered several 911 calls from Bullis’ number that never amounted to anything. After this, they located Bullis at Highway 70 South Circle K and spoke with him. He initially denied making the 911 call until they informed him that they linked him to the phone number. Bullis then admitted that Ware never showed a weapon and that he made a false 911 call. Bullis added that he called them because Ware was panhandling for money instead of working a job. Bullis was taken into custody for filing a false report.
Josey Emerson Bullis was booked into the Meto Nashville Jail on June 21st, charged with filing a false report. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $5,000.
