49-year-old Rodney Alexander was involved in a domestic altercation with his roommate, Johnqulia Amserson, at their Rivendell Court residence on June 29th. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Amserson, who stated that when Alexander had left the residence the previous evening, he had either forgotten or lost his house keys. When Alexander returned to the house, he accused Amserson of locking him out and having other people in the residence. Amserson informed officers that as he was unlocking the door to let Alexander inside, Alexander kicked the door, causing it to hit him in the head, causing redness to his forehead. Amserson then proceeded to show officers camera footage showing Alexander talking on the phone while on the porch, cussing, and telling Amserson to let him inside. In the footage, officers heard the door begin to unlock when Alexander kicked the door and immediately heard Amserson groan in pain in the background. Officers then made contact with Alexander inside the residence. Alexander claimed that he had kicked the door open after Amserson had locked him out of the house and refused to let him inside. Alexander also denied injuring Amserson and claimed that he had injured himself. Due to the footage and statements made, Alexander was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Rodney Nathaniel Alexander of Rivendell Ct in Antioch, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on June 29th, charged with domestic assault with bodily injury. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $1,000.
