44-year-old Erika Perkins was seen being disorderly at the Zaxby’s on Old Hickory Boulevard on August 1st. A worker at the location, Metzly Vargas, told officers that while dealing with Perkins, she called her manager to remedy the situation. During the call, Vargas handed Perkins the phone so she could communicate directly with the manager.
However, Perkins did not return the phone and left the store. Vargas provided officers with Perkins’ license plate, which led them to her address. When officers met with Perkins, they reported that she was uncooperative and told them she believed the phone was a “gift.” After informing Perkins that Vargas’ phone was not a gift and that she was committing a crime, Perkins still refused to give officers her phone. Ericka Perkins was then taken into custody and charged with theft of property on August 2nd.
Erika Sharmane Perkins of Hitching Post Lane in Nashville, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on August 2nd, 2024, charged with theft. A judicial commissioner set her bond at $1,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave her pre-trial release from their facility.
