37-year-old Samuel Benjamin Schwartz had a domestic altercation with his boyfriend, James Neal II, at Elm Hill Marina on Bell Road late August 9th. Neal II told officers that he and Schwartz were spending time at the dock on his boat when an argument ensued. Neal II further explained that Schwartz accused him of having his keys. After this, Neal II said Schwartz strangled him while yelling, “Give me my shit!”
Then, Neal II added that Schwartz punched him in the side of his head, causing him to fall forward and hit his ribs on the boat railing. Neal II provided the police with footage of the occurrence, corroborating his statements. Officers observed minor abrasions to the left side of Neal II’s rib. However, he refused transportation to the hospital for further evaluation. The police could not locate Schwartz that day. A warrant was obtained for Schwartz’s arrest on August 10th. Schwartz was later taken into custody for aggravated assault on August 15th.
Samuel Benjamin Schwartz of Bell Road in Nashville, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on August 15th, charged with aggravated assault. He is free on a $7,500 bond.
