18-year-old Abanoub Nageib was speeding alongside another vehicle on Murfreesboro Pike late July 12th. Patrolling officers observed the cars going 95 mph in a 50 mph zone and conducted a traffic stop. The other driver entered the center turn lane and kept driving. Nageib pulled over for police at the Murfreesboro Pike Publix.
When the police spoke with Nageib, he was apologetic and denied racing with the other driver. Then, Nageib asked officers why they didn’t stop the other vehicle for speeding. Nageib was cited for the occurrence that day. Then, Nageib failed to book himself by August 15th, and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest on August 23rd. Nageib was later jailed for drag racing on August 28th.
Abanoub M. Nageib of Altavista Court in Nashville, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on August 28th, charged with drag racing. A judicial commissioner released him on his own recognizance.
