Jonathan Aleman Herrera punches brother multiple times in face

27-year-old Jonathan Enrique Aleman Herrera was involved in a domestic scuffle with his brother, Jefferson Eleazar Aleman Herrera, at Turfway Court on the afternoon of November 12th. Claudia Martinez Morales, Jefferson’s girlfriend, spoke with the officers and told them that she and Jefferson had kicked Jonathan out of their house the day before. His girlfriend, Karla Lara Cartagena, came by to collect the rest of his belongings as Martinez advised her that only she could come in, not Jonathan. Jonathan pushed his way into the house, shoved his brother, and punched him multiple times in the face as they fell to the ground. Then, they were both transported to the Southern Hills Emergency Room.

Jefferson confirmed Martinez’s statements, adding that he felt unconscious after Jonathan punched him. He said he remembered picking up “something” and swinging it but missing Jonathan. He had visible injuries on his eyebrow and collarbone.

Cartagena told officers that Jefferson shoved Jonathan and punched him twice in the face when he stepped into the house. Then, she stated Jefferson picked up a knife, swung it, missed Jonathan, picked up a pan, and then hit him on the head.

Jonathan confirmed Cartagena’s statements, adding that he sustained a cut on his hand from defending himself from the knife. Officers noticed a cut on his hand with dried-up blood around it, two scratches on his midsection, and swelling on his brow.

Both parties were taken into custody for domestic assault.

DUI: James Judge drinks Voodoo Ranger IPA while driving

35-year-old James Judge was involved in a car accident on James Robertson Parkway on November 14th. Judge had wrecked into the back of a parked vehicle, and officers located an open Voodoo Ranger IPA in his car. Officers observed Judge to be visibly intoxicated as he admitted to drinking two beers and having one while driving. James consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. He was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Shatica Matthews caught stealing at Nordstrom

40-year-old Shatica Sharie Matthews was taken into custody on November 9th for a citation issued in October regarding a theft in Nordstrom, The Mall at Green Hills. Joey Rodriguez, Nordstrom security, observed Matthews concealing three perfume bottles as she left the store without paying. Rodriguez was able to catch up to her, and she admitted to stealing the perfume. The total cost of the items was $413.

Thomia Smith denies ownership of backpack containing 112 grams of marijuana

19-year-old Thomia Smith was jailed on November 9th after police pulled her friend over. Loud music and the odor of marijuana were emitting from the vehicle. One out of three occupants handed over a black bag containing 32 grams of marijuana. The vehicle was then searched, and officers located several bottles of liquor and a larger bag of marijuana containing 112 grams inside a backpack behind the driver’s seat. All three subjects in the vehicle denied ownership of the backpack.
