DUI: Ivy Searles found reclined & asleep behind the wheel of a running car in West Nashville

Metro Nashville Police came upon a vehicle parked and running at Charlotte Ave & 48th at 2:13 a.m. Thursday, with 24-year-old Ivy Searles asleep inside, reclined in the driver’s seat. Officers knocked on the window, and she eventually woke up and rolled down her window. Officers say they immediately smelled alcohol coming from her breath. Searles stated she had dinner and a martini at the Hawthorne restaurant, about a block away, at 7:30 p.m. and then walked to Otto’s bar for another martini after dinner. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to booking, charged with DUI.

DUI: Sejal Desai charged after falling asleep while driving; drank “two IPAs” at a party

43-year-old Sejal Desai says she consumed two IPA beers, including a “Bearded Iris” at a party before falling asleep behind the wheel of her car in the early hours of Thursday morning. Police and medics arrived to find her still sleeping and woke her up. She stated she was disoriented and tired while driving and fell asleep but later admitted her disorientation was due to being intoxicated. She was charged with DUI.

DUI: Christopher Reddick alseep behind the wheel on Broadway in downtown Nashville traffic

Officers working the Entertainment District Initiative in downtown Nashville were flagged down by bystanders who advised that 28-year-old Christopher Reddick was asleep or passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle on Broadway amid many other cars and pedestrians. He was coming to as officers approached his vehicle, but he provided severely delayed responses to questions and was obviously intoxicated. He stated: “I’ve been drinking enough today,” and refused all field sobriety and chemical/breath tests.

Man found crashed, asleep behind wheel after ‘1 cup of wine’ — Tadarius Noel arrested

Police responded to a report of a traffic crash Sunday and found 22-year-old Tadarius Noel asleep behind the wheel with the vehicle still in drive, and crashed into another vehicle. Officers were able to place the vehicle in drive before waking Noel, who reeked of alcohol. He claimed he only had one cup of wine within the past couple of hours and told officers he wasn’t driving but just sitting in his vehicle parked. After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, Noel blew a 0.093 % BAC on a breathalyzer.

DUI: Man found asleep behind the wheel of a running car with a blanket over his head — Travis Turner

45-year-old Travis Shane Turner, from North Carolina, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Thursday just after 7 a.m. when police found him slumped over the wheel of his running vehicle in a lane of travel with a blanket over his head. He reportedly had slurred speech and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Turner refused a breathalyzer and is free on pre-trial release.
