DUI: Abebaw Tesfaye hits multiple police cars on State Route 45

51-year-old Abebaw Melaku Tesfaye was involved in a three-vehicle collision near State Route 45 and Myatt Drive in the early hours of March 30th. When officers arrived, they observed Tesfaye operating an Amazon delivery semi-truck. Then they spoke with him, and Tesfaye stated he failed to see the red stop light while traveling westbound on SR-45. Tesfaye stated this caused him to hit a marked patrol car, which then rear-ended an additional patrol car. Officers on the scene noted that Tesfaye stumbled out of the truck and was slow to provide his license. He told them he had not slept for 10 hours before the accident. Tesfaye stated he had not consumed any alcohol, consented to sobriety tests, and performed poorly. Tesfaye agreed to provide a blood sample after being informed of implied consent. Tesfaye was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: Kaitlin Bamford has 4-5 drinks at Scoreboards before crashing Nissan Altima into ditch

26-year-old Kaitlin Bamford crashed her black Nissan Altima into a ditch on Whites Creek Pike near Haynes Garden Apartments in the early hours of March 1st. NFD personnel spoke with officers as they arrived, advising them that Bamford was sleeping in the driver’s seat when they got there, showing signs of intoxication. Officers talked to Bamford, who admitted to driving after she had 4-5 drinks at Scoreboards. Bamford was transported to Skyline Hospital, where she refused to take sobriety tests but agreed to provide a blood sample. Bamford was taken into custody for driving under the influence-2nd.

Tourist Daniel Leja puts security manager in headlock during Honky Tonk Central brawl

40-year-old Daniel Leja was in a group of “unruly and intoxicated” patrons at Honky Tonk Central in the early hours of Saturday morning who were fighting and causing a ruckus. Security manager Cameron Moores left his office to assist the staff on the floor, and while directing patrons to leave, he was placed in a headlock by Leja. The other staff took Leja to the ground and detained him until police arrived.

Colorado Tourist Joshua Shannon unable to pay tab at Honky Tonk Central in downtown Nashville

40-year-old Joshua Shannon, of Grand Junction, CO, is free on pre-trial release after Metro Nashville Police say he ran up a bar tab of $289.34 at Honky Tonk Central on Broadway in downtown Nashville and was unable to pay it. Officers responded to the venue just before 6 p.m. Thursday, where he attempted to pay using all four credit cards, each of which was declined. During his arrest for theft of services, officers recovered and charged him with a small amount of marijuana in his pants pocket.
