49-year-old Charles Williams Hendricks drove his black Chevy Malibu without headlights, traveling northbound on Gallatin Pike South in the early hours of March 23rd. Police observed this and followed Hendricks as he got into the left lane to turn onto Old Hickory Boulevard West. When officers got behind Hendricks, he changed lanes as if he were trying to avoid them. This prompted officers to conduct a traffic stop near Gallatin Pike North and Williams Avenue. Officers approached the driver’s side and noticed Hendricks seemed disoriented and showed multiple signs of impairment. When officers asked him about the plastic wrapper he had stuffed in his door handle, he quickly grabbed it and tried to hide it in his center console. Police then requested an ARIDE-certified officer to assist with the traffic stop, during which Hendricks had several mood swings, where he went from angry to laughing to crying to being sleepy. Hendricks consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly, nearly falling asleep while standing up. Hendricks then refused to provide a sample after being informed of implied consent, so officers took him for a mandatory blood draw. Hendricks was found to have a gram of cocaine in a wadded-up dollar bill in his right shoe as well as his two-year-old son sitting in an unsecured car seat. Additionally, officers found a straw with drug residue in his car. Hendricks was taken into custody for driving under the influence, simple possession, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, child endangerment, and implied consent.

Taylor Lipert causes crash on I-40 after driving on wrong side of road with child in car
25-year-old Taylor Grace Lipert had a head-on collision with Gabriel Xol Choj on I-40 near mile marker 220 around 2 p.m. on November 13th. When officers arrived, Lipert was trapped in the driver’s seat while her three-year-old child was standing next to the vehicle, who witnesses say was in the backseat during the accident. Gabriel Xol Choj was lying on the side of the interstate next to his car with serious injuries. Multiple witnesses stated that Lipert drove the wrong way down I-40 before entering oncoming traffic lanes. Then, she collided with Choj when she entered lane one. Officers reviewed footage from a witness corroborating their statements. Choj was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, including multiple lacerations on his body and spinal fractures. Lipert’s child was transported to Vanderbilt with a punctured internal organ that would require surgery. Investigating officers observed numerous “Do not enter” and “Wrong way” signs at every entry point Lipert had taken and declared she had driven nearly a mile in oncoming lanes before the accident. When Officers spoke with her, Lipert told them she was new to Nashville, unaware of the area, and an inexperienced driver. Lipert was taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment on February 1st.
Megan Roberts charged after her child was found in the street while she slept all day
29-year-old Megan Roberts slept for eight hours on July 20th and awoke to her 3-year-old daughter missing at 2:30 p.m. When she noticed that her daughter was missing, she called the police and had the neighborhood search for the juvenile. During the search, one of the neighbors yelled out of her door that the juvenile was in her home. She said she saw the child in the street 3 hours earlier, brought her into her house, fed her, and changed her clothes. The juvenile was inside the neighbor’s home for several hours before Megan noticed the missing child.
Kian Garcia flees police, drives into oncoming traffic with baby in vehicle with him
Police say 21-year-old Kian Garcia drove past them in his gold Hyundai Genesis at a high rate of speed on Dickerson Pike on November 19th and began weaving through traffic as the officer followed the vehicle. After running the license plate and it coming back as registered to a GMC truck, officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but Garcia had no plans on stopping. After a brief chase, officers stopped the pursuit due to public safety as the vehicle drove into the oncoming lanes of traffic. Nearby officers observed the car park at a car lot on Gallatin Pike, and two males exited the car. Officers approached the building and detained the two individuals. Inside the car during the pursuit was Garcia’s two-month-old son, who was unharmed.
Tiffany McCalebb left three small children in downtown hotel to “meet up with a friend”
34-year-old Tiffany McCalebb faces three counts of child endangerment after Metro Nashville Police say she left her three children, all under the age of eight, in a downtown Nashville hotel room to “meet up with a friend.” Police were alerted to the situation when the front desk at the Home2 Suites by Hilton on Division Street received a call from their 7th-floor hotel room, and dispatch received a 911 call from the room, and it was just children with no adults present. When staff went to check on the room, accompanied by police, an 8-year-old girl answered the door and was in the room with two younger siblings. She told police her mother was “out with a friend” and after many attempts, the mother was eventually contacted via phone.
She initially told police her vehicle was broken down and left her children under the care of her brother, but later admitted that was a lie. She then stated she left to meet up with a friend to retrieve items from her broken-down vehicle, and officers say her story changed multiple times throughout the conversations. She eventually returned to the room and was taken into custody. Dispatch received this 911 call at 6:06 p.m. and the first responding officer was on the scene at 6:29 p.m.
Musician Hannah Fairlight arrested after playing drunken bumper cars with her children in the vehicle
Nashville Police say 36-year-old Nashville musician Hannah Fairlight Schleuder had dinner and drinks at an East Nashville restaurant Wednesday evening with her two children, and when finished she placed them in the minivan with her and proceeded to play what can only be described as a game of drunken bumper cars in the parking lot of the location at 3917 Gallatin Pike. Officers arrived to find the front bumper of her own vehicle ripped off and lying on the payment. Hannah Fairlight had hit multiple vehicles in the parking lot, including the vehicle of one man who took the keys from her and brought them to the restaurant manager, reporting she was drunk driving in the parking lot with her two children in the vehicle.
Hannah was so intoxicated she was unable to properly provide police with the names and birthdays of her two children in the vehicle with her, ages 2 and 6. She claimed one of her children was born in the year 2025. She was charged with DUI 2nd (she has a prior Williamson County conviction from 2019), and two counts of felony child endangerment. She is free on a $32,000 bond.
