Matthew Ricciardi jailed after stealing $10,000 worth of jewelry from woman while packing her belongings

32-year-old Matthew Ricciardi was caught stealing jewelry from Jodi Eastgate at her Murphy Road residence on June 4th, 2020. In a written statement to his employer at Two Men and a Truck, one of the male employees hired to pack Eastgate’s property wrote that he heard Eastgate mention that she had some jewelry missing while they were packing boxes. The same employee wrote that he had witnessed Ricciardi walk from their U-Haul truck to his personal vehicle with a white trash bag. He then stated that Ricciardi showed off jewelry and coach purses that were in the bag.

The employee saw opened moving boxes and a jewelry box on the floor of the truck. There is video evidence of Ricciardi walking to his vehicle with the bag of stolen jewelry. After getting into his car, Ricciardi drove to another area of the lot, where other employees gathered around his car. Eastgate reported that she had more than $10,000 worth of jewelry stolen during the move. On June 10th, 2020, Ricciardi was terminated from his job as a mover for Two Men and a Truck for his involvement in the theft. In a handwritten statement for his termination paperwork, Ricciardi wrote, “bought stolen purses.” Ricciardi was later taken into custody and charged with theft of property four years later, on September 2nd, 2024.

Alvin Taylor II steals $5,953 worth of electronics with help of employee at Walmart

43-year-old Alvin Taylor II stole from the Hamilton Church Road Walmart multiple times between July 7th and August 19th with the assistance of an employee, Jazmine Reed. On August 20th, an employee of Walmart’s asset protection team called 911 to the location. The employee advised that Jackson admitted to stealing $5,953 worth of merchandise, including three PlayStation 5s, five MacBook laptops, one iPad, and four Series 9 Apple Watches. When officers arrived, the asset protection employee provided them with a handwritten list, labeling the value of each stolen item, and informed them that Walmart wished to press charges. Under Miranda, Taylor II refused to speak with the police or answer their questions. Then, officers observed still photos showing Taylor II with what is believed to be the merchandise in question before walking past the points of sale on July 7th, August 12th, August 15th, and August 19th.

While on the scene, officers interviewed Reed, who, Under Miranda, stated that Taylor II approached her about a month ago. Reed said Taylor II asked her to give him electronics that she had the key to access. Then, she said Taylor II told her he intended to pay for the electronic items upfront at a different register. Reed added that she complied with Taylor II’s requests but became skeptical after he asked numerous times. Reed advised that she did not know he was stealing the merchandise when she gave it to him. However, Taylor II told officers she knew he was not paying for the electronics. Taylor II was then taken into custody for theft on August 21st.

Masoud Ghattas punches wife in face multiple times during argument

52-year-old Masoud Ghattas was involved in a domestic altercation with his wife, Rania Adel Sawers, near Bailey Parkway on May 26th. Officers arrived on the scene and spoke with Ghattas, who stated that he and Sawers had argued while driving. Ghattas said the argument had led to him striking Sawers multiple times in the face and chest. Ghattas had initially claimed he did not know who hit who first but then admitted to hitting Sawers first. Officers observed a bloody lip on Sawers, and Ghattas was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Nirav Patel crashes car after failing to yield, tells police he was “asleep in the rear passenger seat”

24-year-old Nirav Rajeshkumar Patel was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Hobson Pike late March 24th. Officers arrived and spoke with Patel, who initially advised them that he was unsure how the collision occurred since he was “asleep in the rear passenger seat.” While officers tried to clarify who the driver was, Patel kept telling them he was only a passenger before later admitting he drove during the collision. Then, he told officers that he only lied due to being scared. Patel told officers he was trying to turn left and drove across the oncoming traffic lane, causing the accident. Two of Patel’s passengers were transported to nearby hospitals, suffering from multiple broken bones and a spinal injury. Both occupants of the other vehicle involved were taken to the hospital with body pains and a fractured foot. They spoke with officers and provided a statement similar to Patel’s regarding the accident. Patel was cited for the incident that day. Patel was booked on the citation of failing to yield on April 17th.

Shelia Barnett assaults husband during argument over marital issues, tells police “I don’t want to talk about it”

44-year-old Sheila Faye Barnett had a domestic altercation with her husband, Torie Harold Stratton, at their Mountain Springs Road apartment on March 2nd. When the officers arrived, they met with the couple and a witness, Walter Vaughn, Stratton’s cousin. Stratton advised officers that they argued over marital issues, which led to her attacking him. Vaughn confirmed Stratton’s statement as officers observed the two abrasions Stratton sustained, for which he refused medical treatment. Then, officers spoke with Barnett, who advised dispatch during the initial call that she was strangled and assaulted by Stratton. Despite this, when officers questioned Barnett, she stated, “I don’t want to talk about it,” repeatedly before denying the claim of being strangled. Officers observed minor abrasions on her elbow, which she said happened when she fell in the washroom and not from Stratton. Barnett was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Alexandra Gresser slaps boyfriend during argument on Christmas Day

22-year-old Alexandra Gresser had a domestic dispute with her boyfriend, Evan Healey, at Wallace Road on Christmas Day. Gresser spoke with officers and advised them that she and Healey had an argument over their house being messy when her family was coming to visit later that day. She admitted to slapping him once before he left to go to his parents. They spoke with Healey via phone, and he confirmed her statements. He did not wish to prosecute and refused all offered services. They both informed officers that she has severe bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and anxiety. They were notified that she was possibly having a mental episode during the incident since she has been unable to take her prescribed medication since December 14th. Gresser was taken into custody for domestic assault.
