John Angellotti strangles girlfriend during altercation at Double Tree Hotel

34-year-old John Thomas Angellotti had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Tara Tanner, at the Double Tree Hotel on 4th Avenue North in the early hours of January 1st. Tanner advised officers that Angellotti prevented her from leaving by holding her down against the bed and strangling her. Then, she ran to the bathroom, where she knew a knife was located to protect herself. Angellotti grabbed it from her, cutting his thumb amid the action. Tanner told them that she had pretended to go to bed so she could sneak out, but Angellotti woke up and grabbed her. She managed to break free and escape to the lobby. Hotel staff put her in a back office and contacted the authorities. Officers arrived and observed Angellotti searching for her in the lobby. Officers were told that Tanner wished to prosecute, and then Angellotti was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

Anthony Chappell jailed after smoking marijuana on 27th floor of downtown Nashville hotel

31-year-old Anthony Chappell was arrested this past Sunday morning by petty Metro Nashville Police Officer Cory Fetner after staff at the JW Marriott Hotel in downtown Nashville reported he was smoking marijuana on the 27th floor of the hotel. Police were flagged down by staff after Chappell refused to leave. Chappell, who has no priors in Nashville, was taken into physical custody and charged with criminal trespass and possession of one-half gram of marijuana.

Patricia Jackson says Captain America and Jesus told her she could go shirtless in public

Metro Nashville Police responded to Oldham Street early Tuesday morning to find 42-year-old Patricia Jackson wandering the property clothed in only shorts, with no shirt or bra. Metro Nashville Police Officers working the Entertainment District Initiative on Broadway in downtown Nashville in the early hours of Saturday morning were flagged down bouncers at Kid Rock’s Bar. Security staff advised they had detained 45-year-old Jacob Atwood, who was highly intoxicated and had been involved in a physical fight inside the venue. Atwood was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

39-year-old Nicole ‘Nicki’ Catchpole called police to assist her with getting her belongings from the Icon in the Gulch apartment of her boyfriend, Nashville investor & guitarist Art Joyce. She met officers in the lobby early Monday morning and explained the couple had been arguing since 2:30 a.m., and it had only escalated. She stated that he got in ‘close proximity to her face at one point and she struck him in the face with her cell phone. Police interviewed the victim, Arthur Joyce, and noticed visible injuries. Instead of assisting Nicki Catchpole with retrieving her belongings as she had requested, officers took her into custody and charged her with domestic assault.

Cameron Robert Stefani says he met an engaged couple, 29-year-old Michell Hill and her fiancée, Sara Pickard, at Jason Aldean’s Bar in downtown Nashville Saturday night into Sunday morning. He says the trio got into an Uber and he was returning to their hotel room with them. As he kissed Sara inside the Uber, Michelle reportedly became upset and at first lightly punches Sara, then assaulted her with a full-on punch to the face. He says the Uber driver stopped the vehicle and the two men separated the two women, and after things calmed down, they all continued to the hotel. Security at the hotel noticed Sara’s freshly bruised eye and alerted police. Officers arrived and took Michelle to jail for 12 hours, charging her with domestic assault.

DUI: man found asleep behind wheel near intersection, blows 0.157 BAC — Rudy Mahosky arrested

31-year-old Rudy Mahosky was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail early Tuesday morning after being round asleep behind the wheel of his car near an intersection with the keys in the ignition. Mahosky admitted to having “two drinks within the last hour”, and agreed to field sobriety tests, during which officers say he showed multiple signs of impairment. He consented to a breathalyzer and blew a 0.157 BAC, nearly twice the legal limit in Tennessee. Mahosky was charged with DUI, and is free on pre-trial release.
