Rubin Miles assaults girlfriend with baseball bat after he “lost control of his anger”

53-year-old Rubin Lemont Miles had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Yvonne Wescott, near their Pepperwood Drive residence late February 22nd. Wescott alerted the authorities, advising them that she pulled into the neighborhood and observed Miles having an issue with his Ford Explorer in the middle of the road. She stopped to assist him, using her vehicle to get his SUV to their house. Wescott stated she was upset because her car sustained minor scratches after pushing his Explorer and wanted him to apologize for being careless. Miles refused and became irate in their front yard, so she grabbed a baseball bat underneath the bench by their front door and put it under her arm. She added that she feared for her safety once the argument escalated.

Wescott said Miles saw the bat and “lost control of his anger,” punching her in the face repeatedly, causing her to lose her balance. During this, she said he grabbed the bat and hit her on the right side of her abdomen. Officers noticed she had swelling to the left side of her cheek, with her eye nearly swollen shut, and bruising to her stomach. Wescott provided officers with camera footage from her ring bell, which showed him removing his dark-colored jacket and changing into a red Detroit Red Wings hoodie before fleeing. A warrant was issued for his arrest. Miles was taken into custody for domestic assault on April 22nd.

DUI: Dawson Huckabee found passed out drunk in car, tells police he was “listening to an album”

22-year-old Dawson Huckabee was jailed on March 19th after police responded to an indecent exposure at Plus Park Boulevard. Officers arrived on the scene to find Huckabee unconscious behind the wheel of his vehicle while it was running. Officers tried to wake him by repeatedly shouting and pounding on the window. Officers observed several open, tall Voodoo Ranger beer cans in the front seat and center console. The officers decided to open the door to ensure Dawson didn’t require medical attention. They squeezed his arms, received no response, and were forced to perform a sternum rub. Dawson was slow to wake up but ultimately was able to respond to officers. He exited the vehicle and said he was “listening to an album.” Dawson later admitted to drinking three or four beers in his car and consented to sobriety tests, which he performed poorly on. Dawson then agreed to a breath sample but couldn’t provide a sufficient sample and was taken into custody for DUI.

Benjamin Davis slaps wife multiple times, makes her get cigarettes

34-year-old Benjamin Davis was involved in a domestic disturbance with his wife, Pasche Jade Simmons, at their house on November 23rd. Simmons told officers that Davis was grabbing the steering wheel and almost caused them to drive off the road, so she stopped at Glenrose Avenue for her safety while searching for the nearest police station. She stated that they were arguing, and it escalated when he slapped her in the face two times because he wanted to go to the ATM and get some cigarettes. She decided to take him for cigarettes to help him calm down. Officers observed redness and minor swelling on her cheek as they were shown a cell phone video of Davis displaying erratic behavior and being aggressive while they were in the car. Then, Simmons advised officers that Davis was on probation in Colorado for previous domestic assaults against her and that she was fearful for her safety and did not know what to do. Davis told officers that they had an altercation at their residence and that he was hit during it, showing officers the redness on his forehead. Due to video evidence of Davis’ erratic behavior, Davis was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.

A short investigation revealed he had ended their relationship nearly two weeks prior, and the senior lady had taped several notes to his door and slid some into his home under the door. She repeatedly called and left voicemails, despite blocking her numbers continuously. Officers determined there was no assault and that Elizabeth was actually harassing her ex-lover. She was taken into custody and transported to booking.
