DUI: Riley Chlebik drives his scooter into a car in downtown Nashville

27-year-old Riley Nicholas Chlebik was involved in a vehicle vs. scooter accident at the Elm Street and 3rd Avenue South intersection on October 11th. Chlebik was being placed into the back of an ambulance when officers arrived. They spoke with the car’s driver, who stated that Chlebik ran through a stop sign and was turning into the front of his vehicle. Chlebik advised officers that he was going home from work and admitted to drinking before driving, stating, “I am probably over the legal limit.” Officers observed him to be visibly intoxicated and transported him to Vanderbilt Hospital, where he did not know whether he hit a person or a car with his scooter. He was booked on a citation for driving under the influence on December 12th.

DUI: Anastasia De La Fuente found passed out in vehicle after having 2 cocktails at Tin Roof Bar

28-year-old Anastasia De La Fuente passed out in her vehicle at the 2nd Avenue South and Broadway intersection in the early hours of December 18th. First responders had De La Fuente in the ambulance when officers arrived and advised them that they initially observed her in the vehicle facing the wrong way, unconscious in the driver’s seat and that it took some time to wake her up. Officers spoke with De La Fuente, who was unsure if she wanted to go to the hospital. She was visibly intoxicated, consented to a sobriety test, performed poorly, and refused to provide a breath sample. They Mirandized her, and then she admitted to having two cocktails at Tin Roof Bar. She also admitted to regularly taking sleep medication and Adderall. De La Fuente was taken into custody for implied consent and driving under the influence.

DUI: Brentwood Businessman Roy Story drinks White Claw before causing wreck

45-year-old Roy Story, a Brentwood businessman, was involved in a car accident on Old Hickory Boulevard on the morning of December 19th. Officers responded to the crash and noticed Story was visibly intoxicated in the driver’s seat of one of the involved vehicles. They asked him for his driver’s credentials, and he seemed confused, asking them why they needed it. When asked if he had been drinking, Story responded, “Yes!”. Story then refused to take sobriety tests. A search of his vehicle yielded two cases of White Claw, one of which was opened with drinks missing. Story consented to a blood draw and was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: David Jones drinks “3 cups of Tequila” before causing car crash

29-year-old David Jones was involved in a car accident at West Trinity Lane and Brick Church Pike intersection on December 17th. Officers were patrolling, heard a loud bang, arrived, and observed the two vehicles that collided. They asked Jones how the accident happened; he seemed confused and visibly impaired. He admitted that he had been drinking “too much,” referring to the three cups of Tequila he admitted to consuming. He consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and provided a breath sample that resulted in 0.177% BAC. Jones was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: Local Musician Devin Bills has two whiskey drinks before causing accident on Gay Street

33-year-old Devin Guy Bills had a car accident on Gay Street on December 17th. Officers responded, spoke with the involved parties, and noticed Bills was visibly intoxicated. They asked him if he had been drinking, and he admitted to consuming two whiskey drinks a couple of hours prior. He consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and provided a breath sample, resulting in 0.158% BAC. Bills was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: Matthew Simmons drives erratically, tells officers somebody was following him

42-year-old Matthew Steven Simmons was swerving on I-40 in the late hours of Sunday. Officers observed this and conducted a traffic stop. Simmons advised officers that somebody was following him but had no explanation for his erratic driving. He refused to participate in sobriety tests, squatted on the ground, and began saying, “Please don’t hurt me,” repeatedly. Officers asked him to calm down, reassuring him that no one was trying to hurt him. He then began to walk into oncoming traffic. They tried to guide him to the patrol car, but he was uncooperative, screaming, “Help me,” as he hit his head on the asphalt numerous times. He was transported to Nashville General, where he was read implied consent, which he denied. Simmons was taken into custody for driving under the influence, implied consent, resisting arrest, and failure to maintain lanes.

DUI: Roger Allyn drinks before causing accident in Ford F-150

32-year-old Roger Allyn was booked on December 17th after causing an accident in his white Ford F-150. When officers arrived, they observed Allyn lying on the ground beside the driver’s door. He smelled strongly of alcohol. Once he got up, officers noticed he was unsteady on his feet and unable to perform sobriety tests. He was then taken into custody and transported to booking. While in custody, the defendant refused to talk to police after being read his Miranda Rights and Implied consent. Officers attempted to identify the defendant but could not find a valid driver’s license.

DUI: Cameron Kiser drinks before going 60 in a 35-mph zone

28-year-old Cameron Kiser was driving erratically on 1st Avenue North in the late hours of December 15th. Officers observed this and saw him make a wide turn, following the car in front of him too closely, merging into the next lane without signaling, and accelerating 60 mph in a 35-mph zone. They initiated a traffic stop and noticed Kiser was highly inebriated as they approached the driver’s side. He admitted to having two alcoholic beverages before driving, consented to sobriety tests, and performed poorly. Kiser was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: Ryan Hopes drinks multiple beers and some Jim Beam before driving

44-year-old Ryan Hopes was standing by the back of his pickup truck as officers arrived at Briley Parkway regarding a domestic disturbance in the early hours of December 16th. He admitted to having driven the truck there and having drank 4-5 beers as well as some of the Jim Beam located in his vehicle. He was visibly intoxicated, refused to perform sobriety tests, and was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: Hannah Brumley charged with drug possession after crash

27-year-old Hannah Brumley crashed her vehicle at the Dickerson Pike and Hart Lane intersection in the early hours of December 16th. Brumley was highly intoxicated when the officers arrived, stumbling as she walked. She consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and did not complete the tests. Officers read the implied consent form to her, and she refused, then she admitted to having two alcoholic beverages. A subsequent search yielded around a half ounce of marijuana in the front pocket of her overalls. Brumley was taken into custody for driving under the influence, implied consent, and simple possession.
