21-year-old Marie Waller was involved in a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, Cedric Cole, on December 11th. The dispute began with an argument over the recent loss of Waller’s close friend. Cole then left the conversation to finish his food in another room. When he returned to the room, the argument escalated, and when he approached Waller, she scratched his head, causing minor cuts to his face below his eye and above his ear. Cole then held Waller down until she told him that she couldn’t breathe. Upon releasing her, Waller retaliated by taking a lamp next to the couch and throwing it at him, but Cole was able to catch the lamp and put it down. Waller then ran to a different room and locked herself inside until Cole called the police. Waller was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

Maurice Bacon douses boyfriend in mouthwash, throws PlayStation controller off balcony

24-year-old Maurice Bacon was involved in a domestic altercation with his boyfriend, Terence Doston, at 1st Avenue North in the intermediate hours of Sunday morning. The dispute began with the couple being engaged in an argument that escalated when they grabbed each other by their clothing. Doston suggested to law enforcement that he had taken some drugs before the argument in the morning. Bacon told officers that Doston had used a pair of scissors to cut the sweater he was wearing. When Doston was approached about the subject, he had a scratch on his face, which he stated came from a physical altercation after the argument. Doston said that Bacon threw his PlayStation controller off the balcony and threw mouthwash on him and his belongings. When Bacon was questioned about the information Doston provided, he admitted to officers that he had thrown his PlayStation controller out the window as well as thrown mouthwash at him and his belongings. Bacon was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault and vandalism.

28-year-old Terence Doston was involved in a domestic altercation with his boyfriend, Maurice Bacon, at 1st Avenue North in the intermediate hours of December 17th. Doston was taken into custody and charged with vandalism.

DUI: Matthew Simmons drives erratically, tells officers somebody was following him

42-year-old Matthew Steven Simmons was swerving on I-40 in the late hours of Sunday. Officers observed this and conducted a traffic stop. Simmons advised officers that somebody was following him but had no explanation for his erratic driving. He refused to participate in sobriety tests, squatted on the ground, and began saying, “Please don’t hurt me,” repeatedly. Officers asked him to calm down, reassuring him that no one was trying to hurt him. He then began to walk into oncoming traffic. They tried to guide him to the patrol car, but he was uncooperative, screaming, “Help me,” as he hit his head on the asphalt numerous times. He was transported to Nashville General, where he was read implied consent, which he denied. Simmons was taken into custody for driving under the influence, implied consent, resisting arrest, and failure to maintain lanes.

DUI: Roger Allyn drinks before causing accident in Ford F-150

32-year-old Roger Allyn was booked on December 17th after causing an accident in his white Ford F-150. When officers arrived, they observed Allyn lying on the ground beside the driver’s door. He smelled strongly of alcohol. Once he got up, officers noticed he was unsteady on his feet and unable to perform sobriety tests. He was then taken into custody and transported to booking. While in custody, the defendant refused to talk to police after being read his Miranda Rights and Implied consent. Officers attempted to identify the defendant but could not find a valid driver’s license.

Taiwo Ojo-Daniel speeds with someone else’s tags down I-40

22-year-old Taiwo Ojo-Daniel was speeding down I-40 East on June 8th. Officers noticed this and conducted a traffic stop. Ojo-Daniel could not provide proof of insurance; his registration had expired, and the tags did not belong to his car. He was cited for unlawful removal, financial responsibility law, expired registration, and speeding. Ojo-Daniel failed to appear in court and was taken into custody for the violations on December 8th.

Andre Johnson drunkenly strangles fiancé multiple times during argument at Baymont Hotel

40-year-old Andre Johnson was jailed Sunday morning after police reported to Baymont Hotel on Northcreek Boulevard for a noise complaint. The hotel manager told the police they wanted the guests removed from the property. Upon arrival, officers contacted Andre, who was smoking a cigarette on the balcony. Officers immediately noticed Johnson had scratch marks on his face and that there was an unmistakable odor of alcohol coming from his person. Johnson seemed annoyed with officers as he explained that the scratches on his face came from his fiancé, Kristen Trantham, after getting into an argument. He then began rambling about moving from North Carolina to Tennessee, but Johnson wouldn’t explain what happened between the two.

Kristen told police that she was visiting Johnson for the weekend. They had been out at a pool hall drinking, and he had passed out in the passenger’s seat on the way home. When they arrived at the hotel, Kristen tried to wake Johnson, but he wouldn’t wake up. She then slapped him in the face to get him up, but he still wouldn’t wake up, so she left him in the car and went to their room. Johnson came to the room shortly after and began yelling at her. He then grabbed Kristen by the throat and began strangling her. She finally got away and went into the bathroom, where Johnson then opened the door and shoved Kristen off the toilet. When she left the bathroom, Johnson began strangling her again, and she fell to the floor. Kristen explained that she tried to hit Johnson to get him off her. He finally stopped strangling her and left the room. Officers observed marks and bruising on Kristen’s neck. Johnson later admitted that he had six beers and a half a pint. He was placed into custody and transported to booking.

Yersson Peters-Davila assaults girlfriend during argument outside Honky Tonk Central

24-year-old Yersson Peters-Davila had a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, Heilyn Montoya-Rodriguez, in front of Honky Tonk Central in the early hours of December 17th. Officers were patrolling Broadway when they observed Peters-Davila arguing with Montoya-Rodriguez before striking her in the face with an open hand, causing her to stagger back and almost fall. He then walked toward her, so she swung her purse at him in self-defense as officers shouted at Peters-Davila to stop and got between them. Peters-Davila used his chest to push away from officers to get to Montoya-Rodriguez and continued to pull his arms away but was eventually detained. He was taken into custody for domestic assault, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

Jalin Drayton argues with officer at Whiskey Row, gets in his face, yells “Don’t Touch Me!”

28-year-old Jalin Drayton was arguing with employees at Whiskey Row on Broadway in the early hours of Sunday. Officers observed an individual arguing with security because he had been kicked out of the bar. They were speaking with him when Drayton began to argue with the other Whiskey Row personnel due to being friends with the individual. Officers warned him to step back and stop arguing, but he refused, got in the officer’s face, and kept yelling, “Don’t touch me!” He was taken into custody for disorderly conduct.
