Lana Pleasant tries to steal vape, caught when it falls out of her pocket

25-year-old Iana Pleasant was cited for theft of merchandise on January 3rd. Officers were dispatched to Smoke Mountain and spoke with Beshoy Azrak, an employee at the location, who advised he caught Pleasant attempting to steal a $29.99 vape cartridge. She was leaving when the cart fell out of her pocket, and she ran away as Azrak told her to stop. He chased and caught up with her, convincing her to return to Smoke Mountain to wait for officers. When officers arrived, they spoke with Pleasant, who told them she was homeless and just trying to get high. She was booked on the citation on January 31st.

Patrick Edwards assaults Regal Hollywood Theater manager after damaging signs

27-year-old Patrick Zaldy Edwards damaged movie prop signs inside the Regal Hollywood 27 Theatre on Thompson Lane in the late hours of January 4th. Barry Chandler, a manager at the theatre, observed this and approached, asking him to stop. Then, Edwards grabbed Chandler’s eyeglasses off his face, causing damage to them. Edwards was booked on the citation of assault on January 31st.

Timothy Pinter assaults man during confrontation over harassment

45-year-old Timothy Pinter had an altercation with Michael Borja on September 8th. Borja spoke with officers, telling them that Pinter had been harassing a female friend of his and was confronted by him when he was leaving her home the morning after an incident. He stated Pinter yelled at him, so he exited his vehicle while he approached. Borja then told Pinter to leave his friend alone, to which Pinter replied, “What are you going to do about it, you p*ssy a*s b*tch?” before swinging a punch at him. Borja advised he felt threatened, so he pulled his gun to defend himself, but Pinter said, “You are not going to do anything, you p*ssy a*s b*tch,” and swung at him again. He told them he was afraid he was going to hurt him. Pinter was booked on the summons of assault on January 30th

Taylor Lipert causes crash on I-40 after driving on wrong side of road with child in car

25-year-old Taylor Grace Lipert had a head-on collision with Gabriel Xol Choj on I-40 near mile marker 220 around 2 p.m. on November 13th. When officers arrived, Lipert was trapped in the driver’s seat while her three-year-old child was standing next to the vehicle, who witnesses say was in the backseat during the accident. Gabriel Xol Choj was lying on the side of the interstate next to his car with serious injuries. Multiple witnesses stated that Lipert drove the wrong way down I-40 before entering oncoming traffic lanes. Then, she collided with Choj when she entered lane one. Officers reviewed footage from a witness corroborating their statements. Choj was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, including multiple lacerations on his body and spinal fractures. Lipert’s child was transported to Vanderbilt with a punctured internal organ that would require surgery. Investigating officers observed numerous “Do not enter” and “Wrong way” signs at every entry point Lipert had taken and declared she had driven nearly a mile in oncoming lanes before the accident. When Officers spoke with her, Lipert told them she was new to Nashville, unaware of the area, and an inexperienced driver. Lipert was taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment on February 1st.

Mason Marina breaks into roommate’s room to steal her food

25-year-old Mason Marina stole food from his neighboring roommate, Jessica Hopkins, at their shared residence on Broadway on the afternoon of January 23rd. When the officers arrived, Hopkins advised them she rents two rooms inside a residence that three other people share in addition to her. She explained that since she does not share her two rooms with anyone, she usually locks them before leaving. However, a previous incident that resulted in the door being removed from its hinges hindered her from securing it completely before going to work. So, she placed the door against the frame with a note stating not to enter before reiterating this to her roommates. Then, when she went to work, she checked her cameras, which showed Marina pushing the door away to enter her room. Marina then grabbed various food items and began eating them. Hopkins told officers that Marina was prohibited from being in the room or eating her food. She then explained how they had prior intimate relations. Officers identified Marina from previous incidents with his information attached to them. After reviewing the video, they requested a warrant for his arrest, and then Marina was taken into custody for burglary.

Chaz Matthews assaults his mother during altercation

22-year-old Chaz Matthews had a domestic incident with his mother, Shatica Sharie Matthews, at their residence in the later hours of January 27th. Shatica told officers that her son pushed her in the chest, sparking a physical altercation where she hit him back to defend herself. A witness to the altercation advised that Chaz initiated the scuffle, hitting his mother first. Due to their statements, officers obtained a warrant for his arrest, and he was taken into custody for domestic assault on February 1st.

Karim Adhem caught attempting to put his hand up woman’s skirt at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk

36-year-old Karim Adhem had an altercation at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk in the early hours of February 2nd. Security at the bar flagged officers down and advised them of the incident. Upon arrival, they observed Adhem showing signs of intoxication. Officers spoke with the other individual involved in the incident, who told them he heard a woman on the 4th floor behind him telling someone to stop. He turned around and saw Adhem with his hand up the female’s skirt. So, he pushed Adhem away from her. Then, Adhem grabbed his left wrist, refusing to let go until security intervened and detained him. The woman did not wish to press charges or give any information, and Adhem was too intoxicated to prosecute, so officers gave him a complaint card with the following details.  Adhem was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Joseph Kingsland deemed too drunk for Nashville International Airport

57-year-old Joseph Wayne Kingsland was found lying on the ground near gate C8 at Nashville International Airport around 2 p.m. February 1st. Upon arrival, officers observed Kingsland sitting upright on the floor, disoriented, with a minor laceration on the bridge of his nose. Gate agents advised Officers that Kingsland had missed his 1:30 p.m. and hit his nose on a seat in the gate area when he fell after trying to stand up. Kingsland then remained lying on the floor until officers found him. Officers smelled the odor of alcohol coming from Kingsland as he became vulgar, needing assistance to stand up. They deemed him a danger to himself and others, so he was taken into custody for public intoxication.
