Britni Harris drunkenly hits boyfriend in face during argument

27-year-old Britni Harris had a scuffle with her boyfriend, Brandon Holt, at her friend’s apartment in the early hours of January 28th. Holt spoke with officers when they arrived and stated that he and Harris were at their friend’s apartment drinking when they began arguing. The altercation escalated when Harris started hitting Holt in the face, leaving scratch marks. Harris told officers that Holt strangled her but also denied any physical contact between them. A witness, Harris’s friend, told officers she saw them pushing each other but did not see who had initiated the incident. Based on all statements, Holt’s injuries, and Harris’ level of intoxication, Harris was deemed as the primary aggressor. Harris was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Travis Perry yells at officers after being told he can’t urinate outside Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk

25-year-old Travis Perry was removed from Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk Bar in Downtown Nashville late January 27th. Perry approached officers, asking if he could urinate outside. Once advised that it was against the law to do so, he became agitated, yelling profanities at them. Officers noticed he was intoxicated and tried assisting him in getting a taxi or rideshare, but he refused. He was with another individual, so officers allowed them both time to find a ride, but Perry’s phone died, causing him to get frustrated with his acquaintance, threatening him. Perry was deemed a danger to himself or others, so he was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Chester Allen aggressively grabs clothes from girlfriend during argument, charged with assault

27-year-old Chester Allen had a domestic disturbance with his girlfriend, Emma O’Connell, at their residence on January 27th. O’Connell spoke with officers, advising them that she and Allen argued over him owing her money. O’Connell grabbed his clothes from the closet and asked him to leave. Then, Allen grabbed the clothes aggressively from her, causing her to fall, hit her head, and twist her knee. She told officers that Allen tried to assist her after the accident. Officers observed the injuries she sustained and spoke with Allen, who admitted to accidentally bumping into her, causing the fall. Allen was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Marquisha Conyers repeatedly punches fiancé in face over cheating allegations

27-year-old Marquisha Conyers had an altercation with her fiancé, Zachary Davidson, on Martin Luther King Boulevard near the parking garage on the afternoon of January 27th. Officers reviewed footage of the incident, showing Davidson lying down before Conyers got on top of him in a straddle position. Conyers passively grabbed his hair, then became aggressive, claiming he had been cheating. He denied the allegations, to which she started punching and slapping him in the face repeatedly. Davidson grabbed her hands to restrain her and tried to walk away. Conyers then came from behind him and pulled his hair again. Officers observed bruises on Davidson’s neck as well. Conyers was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Rudy Perez Perez aggressively stabs man with large knife during altercation

22-year-old Rudy Perez Perez had an altercation near his residence on Pin Hook Road on January 27th. Officers were provided Ring camera footage of the incident, showing Perez and another male in a heated scuffle. Perez used a knife in a threatening way against the other party. Then, Perez returned to his house before coming out with a larger knife and using it aggressively. Perez was taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

DUI: Parker Bates drinks before attempting to pick up drunk friends

23-year-old Parker Bates was driving in the parking garage at the Music City Center on Representative John Lewis Way South to pick up two of her friends late January 26th. Officers noticed her two intoxicated friends waiting for her and directing her to their location. Bates arrived and stopped a few feet from the officers. When Bates exited her vehicle, officers quickly noticed she had the smell of alcohol on her person. Officers asked if Bates had drunk anything, which she denied. Bates then agreed to a quick breathalyzer test and failed. Officers asked her to perform additional sobriety tests, which she consented to and performed poorly. Officers advised Bates of implied consent and agreed to a full breath test where she blew a 0.113 BAC%. Bates was taken into custody and charged for driving under the influence.

Savannah Grantt, 24, jailed after having sex with 17-year-old boyfriend

24-year-old Savannah Grantt had an altercation at her residence with an underage male whom she had been intimate with on January 29th. Officers initially responded to a domestic in progress, arrived, and discovered the age disparity, with him being 17 and her 24. He and Grantt argued over her seeing someone else, and it escalated physically. The juvenile’s mother was present and advised officers that Grantt and her son were in a sexual relationship. The juvenile victim told them that they had been dating for 8-9 months and had sex regularly in Wilson and Davidson County. Grantt admitted to having oral sex with him in the past after knowing his age but denied any penile intercourse. She said that they only had sex in Wilson County, and when asked why specifically there, she replied, “They did it where they could.” Due to her admission and JV’s age, Grantt was taken into custody for statutory rape.

Nashville Sheriff Corporal BJ Hayes charged after punching & strangling inmate

31-year-old Bryson ‘BJ’ Hayes, who is a Corporal at the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, was jailed Monday on an outstanding felony warrant charging him with the felony aggravated assault and strangulation of an inmate in December. DCSO Investigators turned over video surveillance of the incident to Metro Nashville Police Detectives earlier this year. Police say the video clearly shows an inmate spitting on Hayws on two separate occasions. After the second occasion, Hayes begins to punch the inmate with a closed fist and throws him to the ground, where he places him in a chokehold restraint position. The victim told investigators he had trouble breathing while being restrained with the officer’s hands around his neck. During an interview, Hayes admitted to strangling the inmate and agreed he used unapproved tactics in response to the situation. Police interviewed multiple employees who also witnessed the incident.  

Jorge Cortez-Sanchez assaults girlfriend after she refuses to have sex with him

45-year-old Jorge Cortez-Sanchez had a domestic disturbance with his girlfriend, Cary Diaz, at their home on Hickory Trace Drive in the early hours of January 27th. Diaz spoke with the authorities when they arrived and advised them that Cortez-Sanchez had come home intoxicated, entered their bedroom, pinched her to wake up, and tried to slide her pajamas down. Then, she told Cortez-Sanchez to stop, which is when he got aggressive and tried to push her out of the room. Christopher Aguilar, a witness, told officers that he heard a commotion from Diaz’s room, so he went to check on her and saw Cortez-Sanchez on top of her, pinning her down. Christopher then exited the room and alerted authorities. Cortez-Sanchez spoke with officers and denied that any argument or altercation occurred. He said he was tired from work and that he and Diaz sat and talked until he went to sleep.  Cortez-Sanchez was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.

DUI: Jackson Brady pulled over for fleeing accident, tells police he didn’t know

22-year-old Jackson Brady collided with a Toyota Tundra in his blue Kia on the interstate near Jefferson Street early January 28th. Officers located the two vehicles at the Stewarts Ferry Pike and Bell Road intersection and noticed the Tundra following the Kia. So, they activated their sirens, initiating a traffic stop on the Kia. Brady was slow to stop and exhibited many signs of intoxication during their interaction. Brady advised that he didn’t know he had hit a vehicle and consented to sobriety tests, where he performed poorly. Brady told them that he was going home from work, then admitted to consuming alcohol before driving. Brady was taken into custody for driving under the influence, failing to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, and failing to give information.
