Benjamin Eddie Rutland found asleep behind the wheel after ‘2 beers’ at East Nashville bar

31-year-old Benjamin Eddie Rutland haded officers cash from his wallet and told them it was his identification when they found him asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle on I-65 S early Tuesday morning. When first responders arrived, they noted he was asleep behind the wheel with the vehicle running and in drive. As Nashville fire woke him, they attempted to get him to place the vehicle in park, but he was too incoherent to understand or take action on the request. Rutland says he had “two beers” at an East Nashville bar prior to driving. He later blew a 0.105% BAC on a breathalyzer.

DUI: Aaron Heschong crashes into wall after leaving Uptown Bar

Metro Nashville Police responded to a car blocking a travel lane on Old Hickory Blvd at 2:22 a.m. Sunday. Officers found the vehicle wrecked and empty when they arrived. The driver, 39-year-old Aaron Heschong, stated after the crash, he had accepted a ride from a stranger, which he accepted and left the scene. He called a towing company and his insurance company and eventually walked back to the scene to sign for the towing of his vehicle, at which time police detained him. He admitted to being at the Uptown Bar at 1:30 a.m. and was driving back home when he hit a retaining wall. He was charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, and was transported to booking.

Shannon Crothers charged in West End DUI — blows double legal limit after “a few beers”

Metro Police say 36-year-old Shannon May Crothers was driving on West End with no headlights in the early hours of Friday morning. She was slow to respond after an officer initiated a traffic stop but eventually parked in an alley between 16th & 17th Ave. She reportedly smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking a “few beers” at an event with friends. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later blew a 0.164% BAC on a breathalyzer —double the legal limit in Tennessee.

Robin Underwood charged with DUI after South Nashville crash

Metro Nashville Police say 41-year-old Robin Underwood collided with another vehicle near Old Hickory and Edmonson Pike. As officers approached Underwood in the driver’s seat of her vehicle, they reportedly smelled alcohol and she admitted to drinking “two beers” before driving. She stated she was having chest pain so was transported to the hospital, where she was cleared. After she was released from the hospital, she was asked to do field sobriety tests, which she performed poorly on. She was transported to booking and charged with DUI.

Woman says ex-boyfriend Elijah Leavens bit her middle finger at 404 Bar & Grill

Vanessa Scales says she was at 404 Bar & Grill with a group of friends, while her ex-boyfriend, 32-year-old Elijah Leavens, was also there with another group of people. She claims Elijah “was jealous of her new boyfriend” and started an argument with the new beau. When she stepped in between them to de-escalate the situation, she says Elijah became aggressive and bit her middle finger on her left hand. An arrest warrant did not explicitly state why a single middle finger on her left hand was the only one available for biting.

DUI: Khristen Jones flees into woods after crash, claims her friend ‘Brad’ was driving her car

Witnesses say 31-year-old Khristen Jones rear-ended another vehicle near Old Hickory Blvd & Bellevue Rd and continued to drive toward Highway 100 before she exited the driver’s side of her vehicle and walked into the woods. As first responders arrived she emerged from the woodline, reeking of alcohol. She told police she had “could have had a couple of drinks” but her friend ‘Brad’ was driving, not her. She refused field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI.

Arnelle Spearman charged in assault of girlfriend after coming home drunk, kicking in front door

Molly Conley says her boyfriend, 26-year-old Arnelle Spearman, came home drunk and kicked in the front door Tuesday evening. She told him to go stay at a hotel, and when he refused she called his mother. Via the phone, his mother asked him “Why do you want to be this drunk in front of your kids?” which only escalated the situation and he smashed the phone, destroying it, and grabbing his girlfriend by her shirt, tearing it down the center.

DUI: Nashville Realtor crashes into a parked car after Margaritas & Tequila — Samantha Patton

25-year-old Nashville Realtor Samantha ‘Sammie’ Patton was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Friday evening after leaving Cilantro Mexican Grill, where she says she had two margaritas and a shot of tequila before driving. Officers say she left the restaurant and proceeded onto Eastland Ave where she struck a parked vehicle. When officers and medics responded to the overturned vehicle they found Patton extremely impaired. She refused a breath test.
