DUI: Brandon Matute jailed after crashing into utility pole

22-year-old Brandon Matute was involved in a car accident in the early morning hours of October 30 on Briley Parkway. As the officers arrived, Matute told them another vehicle got in his way, causing him to crash into a telephone pole. Officers noticed the smell of alcohol on Matute’s breath as he admitted to having two beers, and when asked to perform sobriety tests, he replied, “It depends.” Matute reiterated that the wreck was not his fault, and he was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence and was later charged with not having a valid driver’s license when officers tried to verify his identity.

Arthur Jay Gann says he’s “rich and will sue the police” who arrested him in downtown Nashville

33-year-old Texas Tourist Arthur Jay Gann repeatedly told Metro Nashville Police he would sue the officer and the department because ‘I’m rich,” as they placed him in the back of a patrol car in downtown Nashville Friday evening. Gann had been detained by security at the Lucky Bastard Saloon after being disorderly inside the bar and threatening security staff and officers with violence. He was extremely intoxicated and was transported to booking, despite his wishes otherwise. 

Gage Henry jailed after fighting with bouncers & fleeing from police in downtown Nashville

23-year-old Georgia man Gage Henry was at the Nashville Underground in downtown Nashville early Saturday morning when he attempted to exit the venue with a food tray. When security confronted him about leaving with their property, he began to fight them and refused to return the tray. He fled on Broadway toward Kid Rock’s Bar, where he was detained by Metro Nashville Police. Gage then slipped the grasp of officers and fled to 4th & Demonbruen before being apprehended by officers. He admitted to punching the bouncer and fleeing from the scene. 

Joshua Garozzo breaks into West End Building, passes out atop desk with wet pants

An Uber driver reported to police that he witnessed 29-year-old Joshua Garozzo pry open a door at 1720 West End Avenue just after 4 a.m. Saturday morning. Officers arrived and observed the door of the obviously closed business was ajar. Garozzo was found sitting atop a desk, passed out, with urine-soaked pants. He was unable to tell officers why he was there and struggled to stay awake. He was taken into custody and transported to booking.

Darlin Rosa-Rivera says he had ‘one beer’ before DUI crash on I-24

26-year-old Darlin Rosa-Rivera was jailed on April 15th after causing an accident while drunk driving on I-24. Officers spoke with Darlin, who admitted to being the driver of the vehicle at fault. They could smell alcohol coming from his breath as he spoke and asked him how much he had to drink. Rosa told police he had one beer and agreed to sobriety tests which he performed poorly on. It was later discovered that he had no license or car insurance.

Texas Tourist Jeffery Soto charged with DUI after three vodka martinis in downtown Nashville

56-year-old Jeffery Soto says he drank three vodka martinis at a Broadway bar in downtown Nashville Friday night before getting behind the wheel of his vehicle with his wife as a passenger. An officer noticed him driving well under the speed limit on Interstate 40 just after 1 a.m., and he was crossing the lanes on the road. The officer initiated his emergency equipment, but instead of stopping, Soto drove one mile and then crashed into a retaining wall of exit ramp 52. He staggered out of the driver’s seat and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI.

Tourist Chad Cox whipped it out and was getting pleasured at Whiskey Bent Saloon

42-year-old tourist Chad Cox was in a closed section of Whiskey Bent Saloon early Sunday morning with his pants around his ankles and his wife performing a sexual act on him. Security asked him to pull up his pants and move along, but on the way out, Cox became aggressive and began to shove bouncers, upset about his failed performance. He was extremely intoxicated and was transported to booking and charged with disorderly conduct.

Sarah Loer — too drunk for downtown Nashville on Friday afternoon

49-year-old Sarah Loer was observed by Metro Nashville Police officers working the Entertainment District just after lunch Friday as she drunkenly stumbled on the sidewalk. She was visibly intoxicated, with her wallet exposed from her purse, with money hanging out of it. She was unable to take care of herself and refused all medical assistance. She was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

Makayla Coffman hops into driver’s seat and drives away during DUI investigation of driver

25-year-old Makayla Coffman was jailed on Saturday night after hopping into the driver’s seat while drunk and driving away during a police investigation of the original driver, who was also driving under the influence. Officers were flagged down on 4th and Broadway by concerned citizens stating there was a driver asleep at the wheel. Officers removed the driver from the vehicle and began evaluating her welfare. Then Coffman, the passenger, woke up, got into the driver’s seat, and began driving away. The vehicle was stopped, and she was able to exit but was very unsteady on her feet, had slurred speech, and smelled of alcohol. She agreed to a sobriety test and performed poorly, and her breathalyzer returned a 0.98% BAC.
