Roman Betancourt-Garcia charged with drag racing on I-24 in Antioch

19-year-old Roman Betancourt-Garcia was speeding on I-24 East, near Antioch Pike, in the late-night hours of November 26th. Officers observed him and a dark-colored Nissan traveling in and out of traffic at 105 miles per hour while racing. A traffic stop was conducted, officers spoke with Betancourt-Garcia, and he advised them he did not have a driver’s license. He was cited for drag racing. Betancourt-Garcia was booked on the citation on December 19th.

Darlin Rosa-Rivera says he had ‘one beer’ before DUI crash on I-24

26-year-old Darlin Rosa-Rivera was jailed on April 15th after causing an accident while drunk driving on I-24. Officers spoke with Darlin, who admitted to being the driver of the vehicle at fault. They could smell alcohol coming from his breath as he spoke and asked him how much he had to drink. Rosa told police he had one beer and agreed to sobriety tests which he performed poorly on. It was later discovered that he had no license or car insurance.

Devin James: You can’t keep a rental car forever

26-year-old Devin James was jailed on March 20th for carelessly driving a stolen vehicle. Officers conducted a traffic stop at the Intersection of Harding Place and Linbar Drive. When police ran the license plate, it showed the car was listed as stolen. James explained that he had rented the vehicle at the airport and hadn’t been able to return it despite several phone calls from the rental company asking for the vehicle back, so they had reported it stolen. The estimated value of the vehicle is $24,000. James was taken into custody and transported to booking.

William Carson charged in late-night DUI in Nashville

25-year-old William Carson drove around marked patrol cars Sunday, which were attempting to block the roadway due to a crash. Officers made contact with Carson, who rolled down his window, letting officers smell the alcohol coming from him. He was reportedly slurring his speech and admitted to consuming a “few drinks” before driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and later blew a 0.136% BAC on a breathalyzer.

DUI: Junior Louis asleep behind the wheel after drinking wine during dinner date

34-year-old Junior Louis says he had two glasses of wine at dinner with a date Saturday night before police found him asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle at an intersection. When woken up, he stated he didn’t need any assistance, that he was simply tired and fell asleep. When he exited his vehicle, officers reported he reeked of alcohol and he performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Inside the driver’s door area was a loaded M&P Shield handgun. As he was being transported to booking, Louis asked to go to the hospital due to a possible medical condition causing him to “fall asleep” at the wheel. Metro General cleared him for jail, and he was charged with DUI.
