Teen Matthew Walker in Michael Myers mask jailed after pretending to stab people in downtown Nashville

18-year-old Matthew Walker was jailed Friday night after alarming citizens on the streets of downtown Nashville. Police say the teen, who was armed with a prop knife and wearing a Michael Myers costume, walked up to strangers and acted as if he were stabbing them. Walker says he was just having fun and was attempting to scare people in the costume. Metro Nashville Police says he intended to cause “public alarm” and took him into custody, charging him with disorderly conduct. 

Yasmeen Bibbs charged in employee return-fraud scheme at Champs Sports Rivergate

20-year-old De’Nijha Yasmeen Bibbs is charged with felony theft after police say she stole more than $1,600 from her employer, the Champs Sports store at Rivergate Mall. Manager Michael Mateo and transaction logs and evidence showing Bibbs would scan in various items from the store and process a fake refund, transferring the money to her personal debit card. The thefts began on August 26th, and across five days, she took $1,648.62 in fraudulent return money. Bibbs confessed to the crime after being Mirandized by police.

Nashville teen subdued by Clarksville resident after suspected murder plot fails when gun jams — Trejon Montgomery

18-year-old Trejon Montgomery, of Nashville, is jailed on a $25,00 bond in Clarksville after a resident on Timberline Way found him coming through his bathroom window, wearing all black, a ski mask, and armed with a handgun just before 10 p.m. Sunday. The residents were able to subdue the man until police arrived, leaving a bathtub full of blood from the battle. It is believed that Jordan Marsh, who is a former paramour of the resident, sent Montgomery to kill the resident. Montgomery admits Marsh sent him there, and that an unknown person was his driver.

Orbeez/Splat Gun Tiktok Challenge reaches Broadway in downtown Nashville: Four teens arrested

Four teens were arrested Saturday night after participating in the dangerous trending Nationwide TikTok Orbeez/Splat Gun Challenge. In the challenge, participants shoot unsuspecting people with gel-type pellets from Orbeez guns, some of which look like handguns and even rifles. They then post the videos on TikTok to share for engagement. Saturday night, four teens, including Ian Brown and Nashaud White, and two 17-year-old juveniles, shot the gel pellets from a moving Kia sedan on Broadway at unsuspecting people walking on Broadway. Once police stopped the vehicle, they also found an actual loaded (and stolen) handgun.

Maplewood High student Demanuel McFarland charged with domestic assault of girlfriend

Police responded to Maplewood High School, where a 17-year-old student stated that her 18-year-old boyfriend Demanuel McFarland, who also attends the school, had grabbed her during an argument and slung her to the ground. McFarland told police he was upset about her messaging other people and took her phone from her and when he confronted her she pulled away, and he pulled her back. The victim says he also slung her to the ground at this time and pulled his arm back as if he were going to strike her, but didn’t. He was transported to booking and charged with domestic assault and given a $100 bond.

Four charged with felony marijuana possession & distribution — half-pound found during traffic stop

Just after 6 p.m. on Friday, police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Volkswagen, however, the car fled the area. Officers were able to get the tag number and again located the vehicle almost 28 hours later near 1st Ave S. & Korean Veterans Blvd. As officers approached the vehicle, they could see just over a half-pound of marijuana in the back seat in separate baggies. All four individuals in the vehicle were charged with felony possession with intent to distribute: Demarrrio Bowen, 19, Lamont D. Begley, 19, Brandon D. Jnobaptiste, 23, and Donnell Booker, 18.

Police take gun from teenager near airport hotel — Mohamed Kulolu Mohamed

Poice noticed 18-year-old Mohamed Kulolu Mohamed “aimlessly wandering” the area of 2300 Elm Hill Pike, The Residence Inn, on Sunday and approached him. He stated he was just waiting on a friend. Police observed an obvious imprint of a handgun in his hoodie and asked him what was in the pocket, to which Mohamed replied “what do you think?”, causing officers to immediately grab and retrieve the gun from the teen. A records check revealed the gun was reported as stolen, and marijuana was found on Mohamed during a search.

19-year-old tourist drunk and disorderly at downtown Nashville Bar — Michael McGibney

19-year-old Michael McGibney was found at AJ’s Good Time Bar in downtown Nashville, heavily intoxicated. Employees report he had been in a fight, and informed police, who attempted to allow medics to transport him to the hospital, but he refused all treatment.

Due to his extreme state of drunkenness, he was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

19-year-old charged after found drunk & lying on the ground inside Nissan Stadium — Ian Sewell

19-year-old Ian Sewel was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail after he was found lying on the ground inside Nissan Stadium during the Music City Bowl on Thursday. Police say he reeked of alcohol and was so intoxicated he was unable to care for himself.

Sewell admitted to consuming alcohol and was taken into custody. He was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.
