Samuel Lusty slashes tire of police officer who was hooking up with his girlfriend

23-year-old Samuel Hunter Lusty was taken into custody this week for vandalism. On February 3rd, officers received a call, where the complainant advised them that when he went outside to head to work, he noticed his passenger side tire had been cut with a knife. The complainant and his roommate, Colton Harris, are Hendersonville police officers, adding that he believed Harris was the intended target because he was romantically involved with a female, Kristen Cowart, who lives in the same building of the apartments on Windsor Green Boulevard,

On February 7th, officers investigated and spoke with Cowart, who stated she had broken up with her boyfriend, Lusty, the night before. She said that Lusty left and returned around 11:00 p.m., calling her phone repeatedly, driving around her building radically, and screaming threats at her and her roommate, Abigail Clark. She stated that Lusty accused her of cheating on him with Harris, upset that he was a police officer. Cowart then said Clark witnessed Lusty slashing both her and Clark’s tires before driving off. When officers spoke with Clark, she corroborated Cowart’s statements. Lusty was detained on February 4th for outstanding warrants as he returned to the apartments to retrieve some belongings. Once Lusty was arrested, officers asked him if he vandalized anyone’s vehicle, and he denied it but made several statements about Harris running his relationship and sleeping with his girlfriend. The amount of damage totaled $135.00.

Nia Robinson attacks boyfriend in his TSU dorm after learning he cheated on her

23-year-old Nia Robinson had a domestic incident with her boyfriend, Devin Jackson, in his Ford Apartment unit at Tennessee State University in the early hours of April 15th. Upon arrival, officers met with Jackson, who stated he had Robinson staying the night in his room for the last couple of days. Jackson added that this morning, she had woken him up after looking through his phone, accusing him of cheating. Robinson then started punching him in the chest and face repeatedly. Jackson tried to restrain Robinson from hitting him again, so she bit his arm multiple times and kicked him in the legs. Jackson said one of his roommates had overheard the commotion and had come to check on him, and Jackson had his roommate grab his phone from Robinson.

Then, Jackson released Robinson, and she threw his PlayStation controller at his Flatscreen TV, causing it to break. After breaking his TV, she also grabbed his Apple MacBook and destroyed it. Robinson then walked out, during which she slammed the bedroom door, damaging the door frame. She called someone to pick her up and stepped outside, where Jackson’s roommates followed to ensure she did not vandalize his vehicle. Once Robinson left, Jackson realized his car keys, apartment keys, and TSU student ID were missing. He alerted the authorities shortly after. Robinson was taken into custody for theft, vandalism, and domestic assault on April 17th.

Jacobi Austin assaults girlfriend at her workplace, tells police to shoot him

23-year-old Jacobi Austin had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Iyohnna Galloway, at her job on Marriott Drive in the afternoon of April 12th. When the officers arrived, they spoke with Galloway, who explained that she and Austin argued after she asked to use the car to get to work. Austin did not allow her to use the car, so she walked to work. Then, a few hours later, Austin showed up unannounced and started getting aggressive toward her for leaving. One of her co-workers, Dwight Williams, witnessed Austin start tensing up and had to tell him to calm down. Galloway stated she was scared and went downstairs to the lobby to be around other employees. After they spoke briefly, she entered the elevator to return to her workspace, where he followed. Once the elevator door closed, Austin pushed and pinned her several times on the wall. After investigating, officers obtained a warrant for Austin’s arrest and went to his listed address at The Highland on Briley Apartments to serve him. When they arrived, he was not there, so they checked the rear of the complex near the leasing office and located his vehicle. Officers then entered the gym, found him hiding, and detained him. While they were escorting Austin to their patrol car, he started resisting, stating that he needed officers to shoot him because he was not going to jail. Officers then placed him on the ground and hobbled him. When officers tried to put Austin in the car, he grabbed ahold of the rear door seal, damaged it, broke out of the hobbles, and tried to run away until officers finally caught him. Austin was taken into custody for resisting arrest, domestic assault, vandalism, and evading arrest on April 13th.

Jasmine Caruthers sprays mace inside home with two babies present

22-year-old Jasmine Caruthers was taken into custody on April 14th when officers were dispatched to a Walsh Street residence, where they observed three broken windows with mace sprayed inside two of them. After they knocked on the door to announce their presence, Donte Wilson, Cierra Wood, and two infants less than a year old came outside with shirts covering their faces. Officers noticed the children had extremely runny noses and red faces. Wilson stated that Caruthers had thrown rocks at the windows and sprayed mace inside their home. He added that he and Wood grabbed the kids and hid in a room away from the broken windows until Caruthers left. Officers were advised that Wilson and Caruthers share a child, who was inside the residence during the incident.

Jeremy Davis throws water bottle at man’s car causing $2,664 worth of damage

41-year-old Jeremy Ronald Davis stopped his car and threw a water bottle at Matthew McNight’s vehicle near Spring Street and 5th Avenue on March 9th. McNight was driving in traffic behind Davis when the incident occurred. Afterward, McNight got an estimate to repair the damage, which was quoted at $2,664.61. Officers interviewed the vehicle’s registered owner and Davis and confirmed Davis was the driver via footage of the incident. Davis was taken into custody for vandalism on April 12th.

Sherrice Blunt destroys boyfriend’s TV after learning of infidelity

31-year-old Sherrice Blunt was involved in a domestic altercation with her on-and-off boyfriend, Terry Lee Watters Jr, on April 14th at their Nolensville Pike residence. Watters had claimed that Blunt started throwing his things into the hallway outside their apartment and damaged one of his TVs. Officers observed the TV and noticed the damage that was done to it. Officers then asked Blunt why she was putting Watter’s stuff outside, and she claimed that she had found evidence of him cheating on her. When officers asked about the TV, Blunt claimed she had put it outside with the rest of his belongings. Due to the TV not being shared, property officers concluded that the damage to the TV was considered vandalism. Blunt was then taken into custody for vandalism.        

Scott Newbold destroys girlfriend’s tv with box cutter

29-year-old Scott Newbold was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, Jasmine Shelton, at their Newport apartment on April 8th. When officers arrived, they made contact with Newbold, who stated that he and his girlfriend were in an argument. The argument started over Shelton yelling at Newbold for sitting on a table. Newbold, however, did not get up, so Shelton lunged at him and grabbed his pants. Newbold told officers that when Shelton grabbed on his pants, she pulled so hard that she ripped them. The rip caused Shelton to stumble backward and land on one of Newbold’s TVs. Newbold stated that since she broke one of his TVs, he got up, grabbed a box cutter, went inside the bedroom, and damaged the TV. Scott Newbold was then taken into custody and charged with vandalism.

Phenix Gleaves breaks into home, assaults multiple family members during altercation

22-year-old Phenix Gleaves was involved in an altercation with his step-brother, Joshua Vance, at Stagner Road on April 7th. When officers arrived, they saw Phenix talking to his father, Jason Gleaves. Once contact was made, officers could assess that Phenix was highly intoxicated. Phenix was asked what had happened, so he informed officers that he had been drinking. Phenix also stated that he and Vance got into a fight. Jason told officers that he saw that Phenix was intoxicated, so he told him to go sleep it off. This, however, led to Phenix following around Jason and screaming at him. Jason was able to separate himself from Phenix, but Phenix ended up pushing him. Jason recovered, entered his residence, locked the door, and contacted law enforcement. Vance heard the commotion and came outside to see what was going on. When he came outside, Phenix started yelling at him too. Seeing this from his window, Jason told Vance to go back inside, which he did. This made Phenix more upset, prompting him to bang on the windows to get Vance’s attention. Once unsuccessful, Phenix went back to the front door and began punching it until he was able to create a hole big enough to fit a human being. Phenix started reaching inside and successfully grabbed Vance, pulling him through the door. Once Phenix got hold of Vance, he started attacking him. Trying to defend himself, Vance hit Phenix in the face until he could create enough distance to run away. Phenix Gleaves was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault with bodily injury, domestic assault with fear of bodily injury, aggravated burglary, and vandalism.

Jeffrey West Jr. rips up girlfriend’s birth certificate during argument

20-year-old Jeffrey West Jr. had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Anastacia Garza, at their Harpeth Valley Court residence on the night of April 1st. Officers responded to the location and were informed that Garza and West Jr. argued over their direct deposit. Then, he became upset with her and cut her McDonald’s work visor and foam box, ripped up her birth certificate, and damaged a pair of her blue light glasses. Officers spoke with West Jr., and he admitted to damaging her items. His cousin, Jennifer Smock, said she witnessed the incident. The value of her belongings was approximately $85. West Jr. was taken into custody for vandalism.

David McDonald assaults men, destroys window after breaking into their apartment

29-year-old David Terrell McDonald entered Laquest Ware’s and Malik Perry’s apartment without permission in the early hours of March 25th. Ware and Perry told officers that McDonald entered via their unlocked backdoor and walked into their bedroom when Ware and Perry started yelling at him. They said the argument continued into the living room, during which McDonald tried to fight Perry. McDonald then turned and swung at Ware. After the altercation ended, McDonald exited the apartment, broke the handle off an exterior door leading into the building, then broke the backdoor window of the apartment. McDonald broke one of the passenger side windows on Ware’s vehicle before the officers arrived. Ware and Perry added that he had never been there or allowed inside. McDonald was taken into custody for aggravated burglary and vandalism on March 27th.
