Dayton Unger strangles girlfriend, tells police “whatever she says happened is what happened”

25-year-old Dayton Unger had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Ivy Cook, at his Terry Place residence in the early hours of April 22nd. When officers arrived, Unger walked up to speak with them, holding his hands out, knowing he was about to go to jail. He stated while at the Tequila Cowboy, he and Cook argued because he was upset for “unknown reasons,” adding that he was feeling intoxicated at this point.

Unger said he went to the parking garage, where bystanders calmed him down before he and Cook drove to his house. When they arrived, he advised another argument ensued, where he picked up a chair and hit her windshield, destroying it. Unger admitted to placing his hand around her throat and squeezing for approximately 5 seconds. He said that during this, he let go of her, causing her to fall to the ground. The neighbors observed this and confronted Unger, telling him he would attack him if he continued to assault her.

Officers spoke with Cook, who corroborated Unger’s statements, adding that he could not get inside when they arrived at his house. Then she said they argued, and he went around the back, where she heard a loud noise, which she later discovered was him shattering her windshield with a chair. She said that he pushed her to the ground and strangled her, leaving visible marks. Ring camera footage showed Unger grabbing a chair, but it didn’t capture Unger strangling Cook. He repeatedly told the police that whatever Cook says happened is what happened . She was then transported to Summit Hospital for medical treatment, and Unger was transported to booking.

DUI: Katilyn Taft drives after drinking “5-6 Vegas Bombs” police find loaded Glock 43 in car

31-year-old Katilyn Brooke Taft was arguing with her husband in their vehicle near 7th Avenue and McGavock Street in the early hours of April 22nd. Officers observed this and approached them, noticing she showed multiple signs of inebriation while sitting in the driver’s seat. The officers located a Glock 43 compact handgun in the driver’s side door storage compartment, in plain view, next to Taft. She told them the firearm was hers and provided them with her Alabama concealed handgun permit. She consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and then admitted to having 5-6 “Vegas Bombs” at the bar. Taft agreed to provide a breath sample, resulting in 0.123 BAC%, and then was taken into custody for driving under the influence and weapon possession while under the influence.

Timothy Larkin slaps girlfriend after she breaks up with him

52-year-old Timothy Larkin had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Cynthia Lerguson Ferguson, at a Mimosa Drive residence around 9:19 p.m. on April 13th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Ferguson, who stated that she and Larkin argued after she revealed that she was going to leave him. Ferguson said that when she was about to leave, Larkin pushed her into a seat and smacked her two times in the face. Ferguson said she fell, “saw blue for about three minutes,” and believed she was unconscious. She added that once she regained consciousness, she fled the scene, fearing that Larkin was going to kill her. Officers noticed Ferguson’s swollen and bruised right eye. A warrant was issued for his arrest. Larkin was taken into custody for domestic assault on April 20th.

Tresia Givens drives Infiniti with stolen tags

50-year-old Tresia Lynn Givens, a Courtyard Green Hills employee, was driving a 2008 Infiniti EX3 with stolen tags near Bell Road and I-24 on the afternoon of March 20th. Officers observed this and followed her to The Hickory Highlands apartment complex. Givens stopped once she noticed the police and told them she got the tag from a security guard. She said she knew it was illegal but needed a tag since she just moved here. Upon further investigation, detectives discovered she had no driver’s license and cited her for the incident. Givens was booked on the citation of theft and not having a valid driver’s license on April 19th.

Nirav Patel crashes car after failing to yield, tells police he was “asleep in the rear passenger seat”

24-year-old Nirav Rajeshkumar Patel was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Hobson Pike late March 24th. Officers arrived and spoke with Patel, who initially advised them that he was unsure how the collision occurred since he was “asleep in the rear passenger seat.” While officers tried to clarify who the driver was, Patel kept telling them he was only a passenger before later admitting he drove during the collision. Then, he told officers that he only lied due to being scared. Patel told officers he was trying to turn left and drove across the oncoming traffic lane, causing the accident. Two of Patel’s passengers were transported to nearby hospitals, suffering from multiple broken bones and a spinal injury. Both occupants of the other vehicle involved were taken to the hospital with body pains and a fractured foot. They spoke with officers and provided a statement similar to Patel’s regarding the accident. Patel was cited for the incident that day. Patel was booked on the citation of failing to yield on April 17th.

Devin Jackson threatens to kill girlfriend after she discovered he cheated

20-year-old Devin Jackson had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Nia Kendall Robinson, at his West Heiman Street apartment around 2:00 a.m. on April 15th. Robinson called the police to the Radisson Hotel on Airport Center Drive. When they arrived, she told them that she and Jackson argued after she found out he had been cheating on her. He threatened to kill her if she told his mom and started destroying her belongings, so she tried to get between him and her suitcases, where he struck her on the side of the face. After Jackson hit her, he mounted her and put his hands around her neck, attempting to strangle her. Robinson told officers she started kicking and fighting to get from underneath him, and he spit on her repeatedly and squeezed her arms, leaving visible bruises. She added that he stood in front of the door, hindering her from leaving his room, until she got away and had a friend give her a ride to the Hotel. Jackson was then taken into custody for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.

William Leathers booked after driving 80 mph down Rivergate Parkway in Mustang

26-year-old William Leathers was speeding in his blue 2017 Mustang near Rivergate Parkway around 4:47 p.m. on February 27th. Officers observed him going 80 mph in a 40 mph zone during rush hour traffic. Leathers was observed passing several vehicles and causing them to swerve to prevent a collision. Then, Leathers drove through a yellow light, not allowing time to stop if it were to turn red. Leathers was cited for the incident that day. Leathers was booked on the citation of reckless driving on April 19th.

DUI: MMA Fighter Shane Tuohy drinks 6 pints of Miller Lite before crashing his car on I-24 West

33-year-old MMA Fighter Shane Vincent Tuohy had a single-vehicle accident on I-24 West near Mile Marker 61.0 on April 8th. When officers arrived, they noticed Tuohy was unsteady and had to be seated on the curb for safety. He told officers that he had passed out and did not realize that he had struck a guardrail until he regained consciousness. Tuohy added that he believed he suffered a stroke. During an inventory vehicle search, officers located three empty Michelob Ultra 24 oz cans behind the passenger seat. Tuohy took a sobriety test in the back of the ambulance and showed signs of impairment. Then, officers transported him to Nashville General Hospital and Mirandized him, where he admitted to having 6 pints of Miller Lite from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Tuohy then agreed to provide a blood sample. Tuohy was booked on the citation of driving under the influence and insufficient evidence of compliance on April 19th.

Binahy Abdullatif drag races in 2016 Acura ILX on Nolensville Pike

23-year-old Bihany Basheer Abdullatif, a K&G Fashion Store employee, was booked on the citation of drag racing on April 19th. On March 23rd, officers observed Abdullatif and an unidentified individual in another vehicle at the Nolensville Pike and Haywood Lane intersection speeding off after the light turned green. The other car reached 81 mph in a 40 mph zone, and Abdullatif was pulling away from them in her 2016 Acura ILX. She was then cited for the incident.
