27-year-old Paul Edward Merica Jr. attempted to start an altercation with a group of bystanders underneath the pedestrian bridge near Barstool Nashville on 2nd Avenue North late May 18th. As officers approached Merica Jr., they observed him stumbling and struggling to stand up. Officers then had Merica Jr. sit next to the bridge while they tried to assist him. Merica Jr. became uncooperative, not answering officers’ questions before yelling, “F*ck you,” standing up, and walking away from them. Officers deemed him a danger to himself and others, so they detained him for the incident. Merica Jr. was taken into custody for public intoxication and disorderly conduct on May 19th.

Brandon Lahaie found stumbling along I-40 off-ramp at Nashville International Airport

40-year-old Brandon Allen Lahaie was observed stumbling alongside the ramp from I-40 to Nashville International Airport around 1:33 p.m. on May 18th. When officers arrived, they located him near the ramp, struggling to stand. Lahaie told officers he was traveling with friends back to Florida on an Allegiant flight and somehow ended up alongside the I-40 off-ramp. Lahaie then admitted to having too much to drink. Lahaie was deemed a danger to himself and was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Spencer Fritz refuses to leave Z-Mart despite being told numerous times to leave

32-year-old Spencer Fritz trespassed at the Dickerson Pike Z-Mart late May 18th. Deputies were told that a white male wearing a blue shirt with blonde hair, later identified as Fritz, had been warned multiple times by employees that he was not allowed to be there. When officers arrived, they located Fritz and asked him if he had permission to be there, to which he stated no. Fritz added that he had been told by employees and police the day before that he was not allowed on the property, but he still returned. Officers discovered that the location had an active trespass waiver and detained Fritz for the incident. During a subsequent search of him, officers found a marijuana pipe with a “chore boy” in his left pocket, meant to smoke marijuana. Fritz also admitted that he had a metal push rod in his right pocket for drug use. Fritz was taken into custody for criminal trespass and the unlawful use of drug paraphernalia on May 19th.

Canadian Tourist Jason Denys nearly hit by police car after stumbling off sidewalk on Broadway

40-year-old Canadian Tourist Jason Ronald Denys stumbled off the sidewalk near Broadway Avenue and 13th Avenue South around 10:48 p.m. on May 17th. Officers had made a left turn onto the street and nearly hit Denys. Officers then observed him walking down the I-40 West Exit Ramp, where they instructed him to walk over to their vehicle. Denys approached the patrol car, staggering, bracing himself against the railing. Denys reeked of alcohol while telling officers he was trying to return to his room at the Westin Hotel on Clark Place. Denys could barely stand as he stated he was celebrating his 40th birthday in town and just left Lower Broadway. Denys was deemed a danger to himself and was taken into custody for public intoxication on May 18th.

Nathan Reeder booked for drinking after doing donuts in 7/11 parking lot with friends on Broadway

19-year-old Nathan Reeder and his unidentified friends were observed doing donuts in the 7/11 parking lot on Broadway Avenue late May 17th. Officers discovered multiple individuals in the group were intoxicated and under the age of 21. Officers conducted a traffic stop and called Reeder’s name about four times before his friends snapped their fingers in Reeder’s face to get his attention. Reeder showed signs of intoxication as he finally realized officers were talking to him. As officers spoke with Reeder, he seemed to fall asleep during their interaction. Officers allowed him to find someone to pick him up, but his nearest ride was 30-40 minutes away. Reeder was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Brett Michaels drunkenly argues with officers, refuses to leave Barstool Nashville

32-year-old Brett Thomas Michaels refused to leave Barstool Nashville on Second Avenue South late May 17th. Security for the establishment flagged officers down following the incident. When officers arrived, they noticed Michaels showed signs of intoxication, and they informed him that the business wanted him off the property. Michaels became argumentative with officers but eventually left Barstool Nashville. Then, Michaels returned, antagonizing the police and becoming a public annoyance, walking up and down the middle of the roadway. Michaels was then deemed a danger to himself and others. Michaels was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Eli Poe shoves girlfriend into whiteboard during argument

38-year-old Eli Poe had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Anne Sherman, at his Lindell Avenue residence on the night of May 15th. On May 16th, Sherman advised officers that she and Poe argued, during which he had shoved her onto a whiteboard, leaving a scratch mark on the right side of her ribs. Poe was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault on May 17th.

Rhet Woodhall breaks into woman’s apartment, tells police he thought it was his Airbnb

25-year-old Rhet Woodhall broke into Maral Akbari’s Herman Street apartment on May 18th. When officers arrived, they observed the door had been forced open, causing visible damage to the door, framing, and lock mechanism. Officers called Akbari and were provided photos from her Ring doorbell camera of the individual, later identified as Woodhall, who entered her home. Then, they went to the adjacent unit and located a male unresponsive on the couch. Officers checked the door and realized it was unlocked, so they conducted a welfare check on the male. As they spoke with the male, officers showed him a photo of Woodhall, and the male told them Woodhall was his friend. The male then went upstairs and found Woodhall, who was intoxicated. Woodhall stated he was confused and thought the residence was his Airbnb. He forced the door open after repeatedly knocking on it before realizing it was the wrong house. Officers detained Woodhall and spoke with Akbari, who advised them that the damage would cost her over $1,000 to repair. Woodhall was then taken into custody for vandalism.

Arnulfo Juc-Sep hits wife with belt during argument over infidelity

30-year-old Arnulfo Juc-Sep had a domestic incident with his wife, Elsa Matilde, at their Thompson Place apartment late May 16th. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Matilde, who stated that she and Juc-Sep argued, during which he grabbed a belt and struck her on the back with it, leaving a visible mark. Juc-Sep corroborated her statement, adding that they were arguing over infidelity. Juc-Sep was then taken into custody for domestic assault on May 17th.

Hamilton Thomas attempts to run ex-wife off the road, tells police he “just wanted to talk”

46-year-old Hamilton Thomas tried to run his ex-wife and the mother of his child, Audra Clark, off the roadway near Ezell Road Park on May 16th. Clark alerted the authorities, advising them that Thomas drove from his home in Memphis to Nashville and argued with her while she attempted to pick up their daughter from band practice at Antioch High School. She said she got into her vehicle and left the school to avoid confrontation. Thomas followed behind her and tried to drive her off the road, causing her to pull over at Ezell Road Park. Thomas then exited his vehicle and started hitting her driver-side window, attempting to get her to talk with him. When officers spoke with Thomas, he told them a similar story, adding that he was wrong for handling things the way he did and “just wanted to talk.” Thomas was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for aggravated assault.
