DUI: Abbey Anderson drives on wrong side of road after having two drinks

31-year-old Abbey Anderson was involved in a car accident with Juan Mejia on Briley Parkway on December 3rd. Officers arrived and noticed Anderson’s vehicle facing eastbound and Mejia’s car, with front-end damage, facing westbound. Anderson was very confused when speaking with officers, and they observed her to be visibly intoxicated. She consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and admitted to having two alcoholic beverages at dinner two hours before driving. Anderson was taken into custody for driving under the influence and reckless driving.

DUI: Bianca Canastillos found asleep behind the wheel with car in drive

32-year-old Bianca Canastillos was asleep in her car, which was obstructing the I24 exit ramp and Whites Creek Pike on September 25th. Officers approached the vehicle, noticed the vehicle was still in drive, and saw a water cup in her hand. Next to the water cup, police noticed an open alcohol container and two empty containers behind the passenger seat. When they attempted to wake her up, she dosed off two more times before finally waking up. Bianca could not roll her window down and struggled to open her door. She exited the vehicle and let her foot off the brake, causing the vehicle to roll into the intersection. Police assisted her in putting the car into park after she abruptly stopped it. She was confused, stumbled out of the vehicle, and admitted to drinking but could not tell the officers when she last drank nor how much. Bianca refused to perform sobriety tests and blood testing.

DUI: Chase Pettingill jailed after crashing into police car at 2 a.m.

29-year-old Chase Alexander Pettingill faces multiple charges after police say he drove into the rear of a Metro Nashville Police car with an officer inside. Officers were conducting an unrelated traffic stop on W Trinity Lane at 2 a.m. Friday when Pettingill approached them while drifting between lanes. He ultimately failed to maintain control of his vehicle and crashed into the rear of a patrol car. Officers say Pettingill was confused, did not understand verbal commands, and smelled of alcohol. A vape pen with THC oil was also removed from his pocket. He refused all sobriety testing and requested a lawyer. He was taken into custody and transported to booking.

Jermaine Darden charged in assault and total destruction of apartment & contents

Police arrived at the apartment of 41-year-old Jermaine Darden and KeAsia Nance to find two TVs thrown over the balcony and destroyed on the ground below, a hole in the wall of the apartment, most of the furniture completely destroyed, clothes torn and covering the apartment, appliances and pictures destroyed throughout, and the washer and dryer turned over on their fronts. Officers initially met with Nance, who had a bruise on her cheek, a bruised eye, and a cut across her face. She explained she and Darden had been arguing earlier, and she had left to “cool off.” She returned to the entirety of the residence being destroyed. She demanded he clean up the mess, and he refused. As she called 911 to report the vandalism, she says Darden came at her multiple times, eventually snatching the phone from her hands and destroying it, too.
