Orlin Vareala-Zuniga destroys father’s car after going out to drink

22-year-old Orlin Isaac Vareala-Zuniga had a domestic altercation with his father, Orlin Joel Vareala-Media, at their Cedarmont Road residence on May 10th. When officers arrived, Media advised them that Zuniga had gone out to drink and had asked to be picked up. Media initially refused due to his son’s level of impairment until he told him he was going to walk home.

After picking him up, an argument ensued in the car, which escalated once they got to their house. Zuniga started hitting the windows before jumping atop the car, kicking the windshield, and breaking the glass. Media stated when he tried to stop his son from further damaging his car, Zuniga began striking him in the face, leaving visible redness. Dereck Rosales-Carbanal, a witness, stated he observed the attack after he heard the commotion outside his residence. He also corroborated Media’s statements. Zuniga was then taken into custody for domestic assault and vandalism.

Cantaniya Davis assaults ex-boyfriend after he doesn’t let her go through his phone

23-year-old Cantaniya Davis had a domestic incident with her ex-boyfriend, Garret Brown, at their Village Hills Drive apartment around 1:00 a.m. on May 10th. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Brown, who stated that Davis had woken him out of his sleep, requesting to go through his phone. Brown stated he told Davis no and went back to sleep. Then, Brown said she turned on the bedroom lights and asked for her keys. Brown said he had to take her key off of his key ring, and when he was taking the key off for Davis, she started striking the back of his head. Brown then tried running out of the unit to avoid further confrontation, but Davis prevented him from leaving. This was when Brown jumped off the second-story balcony and left the apartment. Davis was then taken into custody for domestic assault.

Jonathan Cardona bangs head against police car after forcefully grabbing employee at Luke’s 32 Bridge

37-year-old Jonathan Cardona forcefully grabbed an employee at Luke’s 32 Bridge late May 12th. Security for the establishment flagged officers down, where they followed them across the street and located Cardona, who was detained due to his level of intoxication. While handcuffed, he became belligerent and uncooperative while kicking and banging his head against the vehicle. Then, officers attempted to help him into the back of the patrol car, but Cardona tensed his legs up and started screaming, refusing to put his legs inside. Officers were shown footage of the incident, which showed him shoving the staff member multiple times. Cardona was taken into custody for assault and resisting arrest on May 13th.

Tyler Burnett assaults girlfriend on Old Franklin Road

32-year-old Tyler Burnett had a domestic incident with Nadai Shann at their Old Franklin Road residence on May 9th. Around 11:00 p.m. on May 10th, Shann alerted the authorities, advising them that Burnett pulled her off the couch and dragged her across the ground before pinning her against a fence with his left arm across her chest, leaving bruises on her arms and knees.

Officers spoke with Burnett, who had a scratch on his nose, which he initially said had come from work. They noticed he had a bite mark on his left forearm, which Shann told them had come from her biting him while he had her pinned against the fence. He was deemed the primary aggressor, and under Miranda, he told them that the cut on his nose came from Shann hitting him with a PlayStation. Officers investigated and found the PlayStation in the house, undamaged and plugged into the wall with dust on it, appearing as if it had not been moved recently. Burnett was then taken into custody for domestic assault.

Stephen Beck caught with crack pipe after sleeping under “very large” no-trespassing sign

29-year-old Stephen Logan Beck was found sleeping in the front doorway of a Hermitage Avenue property on the afternoon of May 13th. Officers located him sleeping directly under a “very large” no-trespassing sign, where they found a metal crack pipe and a lighter lying next to him. When officers spoke with Beck, he refused to provide them with his information, so they detained him for the incident. Officers discovered that the establishment had an active trespass waiver for Beck. Beck was taken into custody for the unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespass.

Robert Douglas hits ex-girlfriend in face after finding her in bed with friend

34-year-old Robert Martin Douglas had a domestic incident with his ex-girlfriend, Rachel Semel, at her LC Germantown apartment on 2nd Avenue South in the early hours of May 10th. Officers arrived and spoke with the complainant, who stated that Semel and Douglas were on the way downstairs to meet with them. Then, officers separated the two and talked to Semel, who said she had been trying to break up with Douglas for about a month. Semel also added that Douglas still had a key to her apartment. She said Douglas had walked into the bedroom while she was in bed with a friend. Semel stated Douglas was upset by this and hit her in the face, leaving a bruise on the left side of her face. Officers then spoke with Douglas, who reeked of alcohol and admitted to drinking before telling officers that he had walked into her bedroom. Douglas stated when he tried to walk away, Semel got aggressive with him, so he hit her back. While speaking with the police, he said, “It does not matter no more what I do.” Douglas was deemed the primary aggressor and was then taken into custody for domestic assault.

Casandra Johnson beats man with broomstick at Mapco

23-year-old Casandra Johnson had an altercation with a customer, Quentin Earl Johnson, during her shift at Mapco on May 10th. Quentin called officers to his Wallace Road apartment, where he told them that he had gone to the Mapco earlier in the day, and when he purchased his items, Cassandra threw his change at him. Quentin advised officers that he threw the change back at her, and she grabbed a wooden broom and hit his left shoulder, near his neck, so hard the broom broke in half. Officers went to Mapco to obtain the footage of the incident and located Cassandra, who admitted to Quentin’s accusations. She was then taken into custody for aggravated assault.

DUI: Maryam Farsain tells officers she “pleads the fifth” after swerving into the shoulder of the road

44-year-old Maryam Farsain was observed driving slower than the posted speed limit around 9 p.m. on May 11th. Maryam drove over the fog line for about five seconds before officers initiated a traffic stop. They approached the driver’s side, where Maryam stated she did not notice driving in the shoulder lane and appeared confused. She reeked of alcohol, and when asked how much she had to drink, she took a pause and said she would plead the fifth while covering her mouth with her hands. Officers asked her to step out of her vehicle, and she rolled up her window and sat for about five seconds while “making movements” near the center console, which led to them opening her car door. She refused to take sobriety tests or provide a chemical sample. Maryam was then taken into custody for driving under the influence and an implied consent violation.

DUI: Kailee Dahlstrom found asleep behind the wheel after hitting car in parking lot

23-year-old Kailee Dahlstrom was involved in a car accident in the parking lot near Brotherly Love Cheesesteaks on the afternoon of May 13th. Sydney Brecker informed officers that she saw Dahlstrom exit her car repeatedly before falling asleep behind the wheel. When officers arrived, they found her sleeping with the engine running and noticed she had an open 32-ounce Modelo Chile in her cup holder. She showed numerous signs of impairment and reeked of alcohol. Officers noticed Dahlstrom had struck another vehicle in the parking lot while operating her vehicle. Dahlstrom was taken into custody for driving under the influence, an implied consent violation, and an open container violation.

Brandon Bristol hits mother of child after disagreement over court-ordered exchanges

26-year-old Brandon Marcus Bristol had a domestic incident with the mother of his child, Angel Michelle Espino, at her Cannon Street residence on April 28th. On April 29th, Espino went to the police station and reported that her son had told her that Bristol told him he could not continue the court-ordered exchanges. She said she confronted him about it, texting him, saying if he had an issue with the court-ordered agreement, they could go back to court to have it changed, which upset him. Espino advised that Bristol showed up at her residence, telling her to come outside to talk to him, and when she refused, he entered her home and hit her in the face until others at the location held him back, preventing any further harm. Bristol was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.
