Dequanya McCord indicted after stealing $250,000 from Family Leisure

A Davidson County Grand Jury indicted 25-year-old Dequanya Sade McCord for theft, forgery, and forfeiture on December 7th. The indictment alleges that McCord, from the 6th day of July 2021 through the 4th day of October 2021, in Davidson County, Tennessee, and before finding this indictment, knowingly did obtain or exercise control over certain property, and falsified invoices to wit: $250,000, or more, the property of Family Leisure, without the effective consent of Family Leisure, with intent to deprive Family Leisure of the property. McCord did acquire an interest in, or receive, certain personal property, to wit: $260,050.44. McCord was taken into custody on May 5th, 2024.

Kevin Luna points gun at woman while stealing a wheel off her Infinity Q50

18-year-old Kevin Luna was one of several people attempting to take one of the wheels off Breanna Contreras’s Infinity Q50 at her Bridgeway Circle unit on May 6th. Contreras’s boyfriend, Jesus Chavez, observed them and two vehicles, one a red sedan and one a black Infinity Q50. Chavez woke Contrera, and she went outside to start filming the occurrence. Chavez called the police while she recorded them, during which Luna noticed her and began pointing his handgun at her. She stated she heard him saying something to her but was afraid to get any closer due to him having a gun. She added that she had not returned inside until Luna started pointing a laser at her. After several minutes, the red sedan drove away while Luna removed Contreras’s wheel before aiming his handgun at her, firing multiple times, and driving away in his black Infinity. Police got the tag from his vehicle as he left the scene. Officers responded to the registered Murfreesboro Pike address, where they heard him approaching due to the flat tire, and conducted a traffic stop as he pulled in. When officers searched his vehicle, they discovered her wheel in the trunk with a box for a 9mm Glock pistol consistent with the 4 9mm casing recovered at the scene. Luna was then taken into custody for aggravated robbery.

Almarsuri Abbas steals $45 pants from Nike Factory Store at Tanger Outlets

18-year-old Almarsuri Abbas stole merchandise from the Nike Factory store at Tanger Outlets on Cane Ridge Parkway in the early hours of February 1st. Abbas was with two other unidentified individuals when he took a pair of $45 Nike pants to the dressing room, put them on, and then left the establishment. The incident was caught on camera. Officers identified Abbas via video footage from a previous shoplifting arrest in Franklin, Tennessee. Abbas was taken into custody for theft on May 1

Mavrick Johnson steals from Ralph Lauren at Tanger Outlets

24-year-old Mavrick Johnson was caught stealing from Ralph Lauren with Clive Jennings at the Tangler Outlets Nashville on April 12th. Security at Ralph Lauren informed officers that they observed two males concealing merchandise and trying to cut off security tags. When officers arrived, the two males came out of the door. Detective Sherman attempted to stop them, but they continued to flee on foot. Jennings and Johnson refused to stop despite multiple officer’s commands, which resulted in a lengthy foot chase. Once caught, Mavrick Johnson was taken into custody and charged with evading arrest and theft.

Desiree Hester steals over $1,000 in merchandise from Carter’s

28-year-old Desiree Hester and Kayla Coons stole merchandise from Carters on Cane Ridge Parkway at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th. They were observed on video entering the store and loading up two baskets with $1000.00 worth of items. Coons then told Carter’s employees that she left her wallet in the car, so she went to her car and returned as if she was going to pay. This was when Hester opened the door, and both fled in a vehicle registered to Coons’ Greer Road residence. The police interviewed Coons on February 15th, during which she admitted to taking the merchandise and identified Hester. A warrant was issued for Hester’s arrest on February 19th. Hester was booked on the citation of theft on March 16th.

Booster Tatyana Burgess jailed after stealing over $2,000 in merchandise across multiple incidents

25-year-old Tatyana Burgess was taken into custody for three counts of theft on February 8th. On April 25th, 2023, Burgess stole $520 worth of merchandise from Academy Sports on Gallatin Pike North and fled before officers arrived. Then, on December 21st, 2023, Mark Wagner, a loss prevention officer, observed Burgess and an unknown individual walk into the Old Navy at Tanger Outlet Mall on Cane Ridge Road, each carrying a bag. Then, Burgess took clothes off the shelves and brought them to the unidentified individual so they could place them in their bags. Once the bags were filled with $1,854.54 worth of items, they walked past the points of sale and left the location. Then, on January 2nd, Burgess and two others, one female and one male, entered the GAP at Tanger Outlet Mall. Burgess walked around the store removing security tags and handing clothes to the male, who concealed them in a blue plastic bag before they left without paying. Officers used store video footage, TN DL pictures, and Facebook to help identify Burgess. Burgess has a history of shoplifting charges in multiple states.

Latasha Weeden tries to forcefully spread girlfriend’s legs to prove she cheated

42-year-old Latasha Weeden was involved in a domestic dispute with her girlfriend, Tasha Childs, at their shared residence on Old Hickory Boulevard in the early hours of May 3rd. Childs stated that she came home, and Weeden was upset, accusing her of infidelity, and began punching her in the face, head, and back, causing visible injuries to her bottom lip and bruising to her back. Weeden tried to open Tasha’s legs to prove that she had been cheating, and Tasha scratched her on the inner thigh. The assault finally ended when Weeden’s stepmother called Weeden, telling her to leave the residence before the police were called, causing her to flee. Weeden was taken into custody for domestic assault on December 9th.
