Florida man Andrew Holland charged in assault of wife in Nashville Dream Hotel

36-year-old Andrew Holland was jailed this week while in town with his wife, Anna Maria Burgos. The Florida couple was staying at the Dream Hotel in downtown Nashville, where just before 5 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a domestic disturbance call. The two had an argument while out at dinner, which continued as they returned to the hotel room. She says that Andrew suddenly pushed her, shoved her to the ground, struck her in the face, and struck her with a pillow. As she further detailed the assault, she said he pressed his fingers on her eyes and strangled her for a period of time. Officers documented multiple injuries on the victim and took Andrew into custody.

Nia Branch charged with child neglect after her child roamed outside while she slept off a hangover

21-year-old Nia Branch was naked from the waist down when she answered her front door Friday morning and stood face to face with Metro Nashville Police officers. They asked if she knew the location of her young child, who she believed was still in the apartment with her. In reality, the child, wearing only shorts and a soiled diaper, had been running around the apartment complex unsupervised and knocking on doors, asking for food. Neighbors had fed the child and changed the dirty diaper. They told police the child was frequently outside unsupervised and naked, asking for food. Branch told officers she had been out drinking the night before and wasn’t aware the child had left the home.

Cody Brom charged in daytime DUI in downtown Nashville

30-year-old Cody Brom is charged with driving under the influence after he drove the wrong way on 4th Ave S in downtown Nashville mid-day on Monday. Officers say his clothing was covered in vomit, and he stated he had “a lot” of alcohol. He was asked to perform field sobriety tests but stated, “It’s no use; I’m drunk!” Brom was transported to booking, where he blew a 0.21% BAC on a breathalyzer.

DUI: Cecil Nelson found passed out behind wheel, blocking interstate traffic on I-40 at 2 AM

Police say 24-year-old Cecil Nelson was passed out behind the wheel of a maroon GMC which was blocking all westbound lanes of I-40 in the early hours of Monday morning. His foot was on the brake, and the vehicle was running and in drive. Once he was awakened denied medical assistance, threw his hands up in the air, and demanded to know why he was being detained. He was visibly intoxicated and admitted to consuming a “couple of High Noon” beverages along with a Vegas Bomb. He stated he was on the way to pick up a friend when he was awakened by officers in the middle of the interstate. Nelson performed poorly on field sobriety tests and blew a 0.200% BAC on a breathalyzer.
