Javonte Gordon charged in $100 theft of candy from downtown store

18-year-old Javonte Gordon entered the Downtown Wine and Spirits on 2nd Avenue with three juvenile co-defendants on July 20. Once inside, the entire group reportedly worked in concert to steal approximately $100 worth of candy. Police say Gordon distracted the clerk, Silas Lunsford, by engaging in conversation and even purchasing some candy. The other three allegedly blocked the view of the clerk and stole the candy without paying. The entire incident was captured on the store’s surveillance cameras, and Detective Riley Brewer identified the defendants through the video, and warrants were issued in August. Gordon was taken into custody last week on the charge of theft of merchandise.

Krista-Eve Kenison charged with shoplifting from Nashville Target store

21-year-old Krista-Eve Nicole Kenison is charged with theft from a Target store on Old Hickory Blvd on July 13. Police say she attempted to walk out the door with unpaid merchandise, and the loss prevention officer, Lucas Long, was unsuccessful in stopping her. She was identified via the license plate of the vehicle she fled the scene in, which was registered to her. A warrant was issued for her arrest, and she was booked this week.

Armani Sparks jailed with 1 gram of marijuana on TSU campus after evading police — $9K bond

19-year-old Armani Sparks was jailed in the early hours of Friday morning after detectives observed a Gray Dodge Durango swerving in and out of lanes on Jefferson Street. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but Sparks fled. The police did not chase him but called in for a police helicopter to pursue the vehicle. Tennessee Highway Patrol Aviation followed Sparks to the TSU campus, where he was taken into custody. A search of Mr. Sparks’ person yielded one gram of marijuana, and he was transported to booking.

Tourist Evan Lieseke jailed after drunken debacle at Barstool Sports in downtown Nashville

35-year-old tourist Evan Lieseke was observed at Barstool Sports late Sunday night with his clothing in disarray and he swayed back in forth in an apparent state of intoxication. He slurred his speech as he spoke with officers and was given the opportunity to arrange a safe ride home or to his hotel, but he did not have his wallet or phone in his possession. Officers took Lieseke into custody and transported him to booking.

TV Host Alana McLaughlin charged with harassing ex-boyfriend; sending nasty messages

21-year-old Alana McLaughlin, who is the host of Perspectives with Alana McLaughlin on Fox17 in Nashville, was charged with harassment on October 6 after she continued to text and contact her ex-boyfriend, Johnathon Davis, after being told to cease all communications. Johnathon Davis had told Alana he felt they were no longer compatible just after 6 a.m. on September 11. He blocked her number, at which point she began to send harassing messages via CashApp and other forms of social media, with the apparent intention to annoy and offend the victim. She also made insulting and derogatory remarks about the victim’s disabled juvenile son. A summons was issued for her arrest that afternoon, and she was booked on that summons last week in Nashville.
