19-year-old Armani Sparks was jailed in the early hours of Friday morning after detectives observed a Gray Dodge Durango swerving in and out of lanes on Jefferson Street. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but Sparks fled. The police did not chase him but called in for a police helicopter to pursue the vehicle. Tennessee Highway Patrol Aviation followed Sparks to the TSU campus, where he was taken into custody. A search of Mr. Sparks’ person yielded one gram of marijuana, and he was transported to booking.
