DUI: Brent Meyer crashes through fence at Gaylord Opryland Resort after having 7 drinks

46-year-old Brent Meyer was seen driving under the influence after a single-vehicle car accident at the Gaylord Opryland Resort And Convention Center Opryland  Drive on September 10th. When the officers arrived, they noticed a vehicle had driven up a hill and was stuck on top of a concrete barrier. After speaking with security, they found Meyer, who had fled the scene and was trying to hide from both security and officers. Meyer appeared confused, had slurred speech, smelled of alcohol, and had vomit and blood on his shirt. Officers confirmed that Meyer had been in control of the vehicle with the help of security, who had seen him in the driver’s seat. Security also informed the officers that Meyer had driven through a chain-link fence, causing $5,000 worth of damage. The security footage also showed Meyer going through the fence. When asked about his alcohol consumption, Meyer replied, “I don’t know,” and claimed he had stopped drinking hours ago. Meyer also claimed he didn’t know how his truck got onto the concrete barrier. When asked to perform sobriety tests, Meyer did not consent. Meyer was then detained, refused to give additional statements, and refused implied consent. Upon searching Meyer’s person, officers found a receipt in his pocket showing the purchase of seven alcoholic beverages from a nearby bar. When asked about vehicle insurance, Meyer could not provide proof, claiming his phone was dead. Meyer was then transported and later charged with criminal trespass, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, refusing implied consent, and failure to provide insurance.

DUI: Brandon Parsons walks away from accident after drinking 7 beers, tells police “he crashed”

37-year-old Massage Therapist Brandon Parsons was involved in a car crash at Hillsboro Pike on April 9th. Parsons was located walking away from the crash and did not attempt to contact law enforcement. When officers met with Parsons, he told them that “he crashed” and was trying to get home. Parsons admitted that he drank seven draft beers and then drove in his car. Parsons consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. Officers informed Parsons about implied consent, but he refused to provide a breath sample. Brandon Parsons was taken into custody and charged with implied consent, driving under the influence, and leaving the scene of an accident.

DUI: Jackson Brady pulled over for fleeing accident, tells police he didn’t know

22-year-old Jackson Brady collided with a Toyota Tundra in his blue Kia on the interstate near Jefferson Street early January 28th. Officers located the two vehicles at the Stewarts Ferry Pike and Bell Road intersection and noticed the Tundra following the Kia. So, they activated their sirens, initiating a traffic stop on the Kia. Brady was slow to stop and exhibited many signs of intoxication during their interaction. Brady advised that he didn’t know he had hit a vehicle and consented to sobriety tests, where he performed poorly. Brady told them that he was going home from work, then admitted to consuming alcohol before driving. Brady was taken into custody for driving under the influence, failing to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, and failing to give information.

Nashville Realtor Paul Sequeira booked after hitting mailbox and fleeing the scene

57-year-old Nashville Realtor Paul Sequeira had a single-car accident where he collided with a mailbox on McGavock Pike on January 4th. Sequeira fled afterward, leaving the vehicle behind. When officers arrived, his roommates were at the location looking for the vehicle on his behalf. They provided Sequeira’s address, and when the authorities got there, he advised that he had been in a physical altercation, causing him to be disoriented and drive into the mailbox. He explained that he had left his car there because he locked his keys in it and could not get back into it. Sequeira was issued a citation and was booked on the charge this week.

Broderick Winger charged with DUI after fleeing from crash

Police say 21-year-old Broderick Winger was the driver of a hit-and-run incident that occurred just before 4 p.m. Saturday. Winger reportedly crashed into a vehicle at 8th & Demonbreun and then fled toward 5th Ave South, where he parked his vehicle in the middle of the road near an intersection. Officers made contact with Winger, who was visibly intoxicated, and had four “Four Loko” cans on the floorboard. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody, with a stop at Metro General for a forced blood draw.

Joel Kaizer flees scene of crash, fails to appear in court

21-year-old Joel Kaizer was involved in a car accident on Donelson Pike in December 2022. Kaizer initially fled the scene and did not stop until a traffic stop was conducted. Officers were notified that Kaizer failed to appear in court in September 2022, causing his license to be suspended. Kaizer was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license. He failed to appear in court on April 24th and was taken into custody on November 20th for failure to be booked.

DUI: Ryan Terrell crashes car, says he “saw a deer, but that may not be true”

27-year-old Ryan Terrell says he drank two sixteen-ounce “Voodoo Rangers” before crashing his car near Hwy 70 & Charlotte Pike just after 2 a.m. Saturday. After the crash, he exited his vehicle and began walking down the road with bloody hands, where officers located him approximately 1.5 miles from the crash site. He explained he was headed home from work when, “I saw a deer, and that may not be true,” when asked about the crash. He was visibly intoxicated and admitted he was drunk during questioning. After a blood draw, Terrell was transported to booking.

Lazarius McGee charged after fleeing in stolen vehicle

19-year-old Lazarius McGee was taken into custody for motor vehicle theft, evading arrest, theft, and driving without a license on October 13th. Officers were in the parking lot of Fort Negley when they observed a black Volkswagen crash into a light pole. Three black males got out of the vehicle and ran away from officers, but McGee was caught on foot. McGee did not have a license.

DUI: Nickolas Daugherty crashes into woman’s yard

Officers responded to a single-vehicle accident call from Karyn Sloan at Aurora Avenue in the early hours of September 30th. Upon arrival, Officers observed damage to Sloan’s property. Sloan stated she heard a vehicle press the gas aggressively in front of her house before witnessing a gray Dodge Challenger lose control and run into the bushes in her yard. She then told the Officers that her husband got into his vehicle to attempt to follow or locate the Challenger and was able to advise Officers that it was located at Globe Place. Upon arrival, Officers observed 42-year-old Nickolas Daugherty asleep in the passenger seat of the Challenger. Daugherty showed visible signs of intoxication after being woken up by Officers and having to step out of the vehicle. He refused to perform sobriety tests, and then officers read Daugherty his Miranda Rights before obtaining a search warrant for a sample of his blood. He was then arrested for driving under the influence, hit and run, implied consent, and leaving the scene of an accident- damage $ 1,500 or less.
