Nashville Airport Police Department investigated an inbound Southwest flight 802 scheduled to arrive from Los Angeles, CA, and deployed their narcotics detecting K-9 Peggy, who gave a positive indication to four bags. There was a hard-sided dark pink roller bag with a SWA bag tag name displaying “Collins/Ebony,” a dark blue hard-sided roller bag with a SWA bag tag name displaying “Moss/Alvin,” a light blue hard-sided roller bag with a SWA bag tag name displaying “Hampton/Willie,” and a light pink hard-sided roller bag with a SWA bag tag name displaying “Hughes/Toshel.” Officers located them once each bag was claimed and separately asked to search their luggage, to which they consented. During a search of Hughes’s light pink suitcase, they located 18 bundles of vacuum-sealed marijuana as well a small amount in her purse totaling 8,164.66 grams/18 pounds.

Alvin Moss caught at Nashville International Airport with 10 pounds of marijuana
37-year-old Alvin Lester Moss was taken into custody for felony possession on February 28th. Jared Paver points gun at employee during argument
34-year-old Jared Paver had an altercation with one of his employees, Raymond Mansfield, at the Sentral SoBro apartment complex on Lea Avenue on February 27th. Mansfield alerted the authorities, advising them that Paver pointed a handgun at him during an argument. When officers arrived, Paver was not at the location, so they left and were called shortly after by Sentral SoBro management. Later that day, Sentral SoBro management called the police and advised that Paver had returned to the location and wanted him removed. Officers responded and located Paver with a female companion in the hallway. Paver admitted to having a verbal incident with someone the night before and having a firearm but claimed that he did not point or aim it at anybody. Paver was transported to Central Precinct for further investigation. Under Miranda, Paver admitted that he had been drinking yesterday and that he argued with Mansfield but did not recall aiming his gun at him. Officers then showed Paver video footage of the incident, which was when Paver admitted to being the one shown on tape pointing the firearm. Paver was taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on February 28th.
Andre Ingram steals ex-wife’s property during divorce, refuses to leave her home
61-year-old Andre Timothy Ingram stole property from his ex-wife, Stanley Sucrontae Rena, at their previously shared residence on January 24th. Rena called the police, reporting that Ingram had stolen items that she owned before their marriage. Rena explained how she allowed Ingram to stay at her house after their divorce while she waited at another location for him to move. Ingram refused to leave the house, so Rena evicted him. Then, when Rena returned to the home, she noticed her belongings were missing. Detectives were informed that Ingram and Rena signed divorce papers in September 2020, stating, “All personal property the Plaintiff has now is his/hers,” and, “All personal property the Defendant has now is his/hers.” Rena provided officers with a moving receipt from 2015 showing her residing at the address before their marriage.
Officers then went to speak with Ingram, who admitted to taking some of the listed items. Rena told officers that during many conversations after their divorce, Rena had told him that she did not care what he took as long as he moved out of the location. Officers advised him to return her property, which Ingram agreed to. Officers notified Rena, telling her she had to give him time to return the property. On February 12th, Rena’s lawyer sent a letter via US Postal Service and email, giving Ingram 10 days to return the stolen items. On February 27th, Ingram still had not returned her belongings or called her lawyer to arrange it. Officers followed up with Rena, who updated her list of missing things. Rena noted that two of her firearms, which she provided proof of purchase for, were also missing. Ingram was taken into custody for theft of property and the theft of a firearm on February 28th.
Kai Hampton assaults 17-year-old pregnant girlfriend and her mother
23-year-old Kai Milton Hampton had a domestic altercation with his pregnant 17-year-old girlfriend, JC, near the Olive Garden on Opry Mills Drive late February 27th. Dispatch advised them that they were in a silver Kia Optima, which officers observed leaving the scene towards Briley Parkway South before following it and conducting an investigative stop. As they approached the Optima, they noticed Hampton and JC matched the description of the two involved in the incident. JC told officers that she and Hampton argued while walking to their car after dinner, during which she lay on the sidewalk, refusing to get up. Then, she said he forcefully picked her up, attempting to take her to the car, so she pulled his hair to make him release her, stating she did not want to be handled that way. Hampton then grabbed her neck from behind with two hands and started squeezing. JC said that this made breathing slightly difficult for her and made her dizzy.
Then, she explained how he had her pressed up against the Kia until her mother, Breanne Gautier, confronted him, causing him to release her. She said she watched him approach her mom and grab her arms, threatening to hit her if she continued to intervene. JC said that things deescalated after she and Hampton got into the car. Gautier spoke to the officers, advising them she had seen him with his hand around her neck, attacking her, so she rushed over there to protect JC. She said it was at this time that he grabbed her by her arms, threatening her and that she was afraid but was not going to back down. Then, after he released her, she got into her car, and they got into JC’s Kia. They went to leave as the officers arrived. Detectives noticed visible injuries that JC sustained during the incident and deemed Hampton as the primary aggressor. He was taken into custody for two counts of domestic assault on February 28th.
Edward Morena exposes intimate video to ex-girlfriend’s parents
27-year-old Edward Morena was taken into custody for unlawful exposure, violating an order of protection, and domestic assault on February 27th. On October 23rd, Genesis Jose Mendez Castellanos, Morena’s ex-girlfriend, told officers that she obtained an order of protection against him, which was served to him on September 25th, due to prior attacks that happened in Panama City, and then advised she came to Tennessee to get away from him. Castellanos told them that on October 1st, Morena sent an intimate video of them to her family and Jose Gonzalez before blocking him. She provided screenshots of her mother receiving the video and told officers that it was supposed to remain private. Then, she explained that on October 3rd, Morena threatened her via audio messages, saying he would shoot himself after shooting her and everyone else. Castellanos then told them that on October 7th, he messaged her through WhatsApp, which she uses to speak with their 7-year-old. She said it had to have been Morena because her child cannot spell in Spanish.
George Garas rips wife’s shoes after argument tells police she “did not deserve to wear them”
43-year-old George Garas had a domestic incident with his wife, Nadia Farag, at their Hamilton Church Road apartment on the morning of February 27th. Farag spoke with officers when they arrived, advising them that Garas threw most of their food away and tore a pair of her shoes apart following an argument. Officers noticed food and a pair of damaged pink Crocs scattered on their floor. As they left, Garas returned to the scene and admitted to ripping Farag’s shoes, stating that she “Did not deserve to wear them.” Garas was taken into custody for vandalism.
Steve Midgett Jr. booked after starting brawl during funeral at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church
23-year-old Steve Midgett Jr. was booked on an outstanding warrant from May 10th, 2020. On that day, police received a report from Midgett Jr.’s cousin stating that during a funeral at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Midgett Jr. offered a few words. During the concluding remarks, Midgett Jr. stepped on the podium and began lambasting the deceased. This caused a brawl inside the church, which continued outside into the parking lot. While the police were quelling the crowd, Midgett Jr. told his cousin, “You’re dead,” which placed her in fear.
On February 26, while officers attempted to arrest Midgett Jr. on the outstanding warrant, he resisted, preventing officers from escorting him to the patrol car. Officers commanded several times to stop resisting, but he continued to resist and refused to sit down in the patrol vehicle. Midgett Jr. was taken into custody for resisting arrest and domestic assault on February 26th.
John Wilson Jr. deemed too drunk for Nashville International Airport
43-year-old John Wilson Jr. was jailed on February 26th after not paying his bill at Vino Fiesta Bar at Nashville International Airport. John left Vino Fiesta Bar and was denied boarding with American Airlines for being too intoxicated. The bar manager provided a bill of $38.56 that John left unpaid. Officers retrieved John’s information from the gate agent and contacted him by phone. John told officers that he was currently at the pick-up zone. When officers arrived at the pick-up zone, they observed him standing on the curb near traffic, unable to keep his balance. John was visibly intoxicated and smelled of alcohol. John was taken into custody for his own safety.
Imari Claybrooks caught with 192.3 grams of marijuana in her car
21-year-old Imari Claybrooks failed to stop completely before turning right at the red light on 7th Avenue South and Lafayette Street on the afternoon of February 26th. Claybrooks pulled over to the Nashville Rescue Mission parking lot, and as officers approached her car, they noticed it reeked of marijuana. Officers then asked Claybrooks to exit the vehicle so they could search it. During the search, officers located a Kroger bag with a total of 192.3 grams of marijuana split into 16 small bags that were all labeled with different sales prices. Under Miranda, Claybrooks told them she was using the marijuana to make edibles and handed them a small bag of marijuana that she had in her bra. Claybrooks was taken into custody for felony possession of Schedule IV with intent.
