Toshel Hughes caught at Nashville International Airport with 18 pounds of marijuana

27-year-old Toshel Dennesse Hughes was taken into custody for felony possession of a schedule VI drug on February 28th. Nashville Airport Police Department investigated an inbound Southwest flight 802 scheduled to arrive from Los Angeles, CA, and deployed their narcotics detecting K-9 Peggy, who gave a positive indication to four bags. There was a hard-sided dark pink roller bag with a SWA bag tag name displaying “Collins/Ebony,” a dark blue hard-sided roller bag with a SWA bag tag name displaying “Moss/Alvin,” a light blue hard-sided roller bag with a SWA bag tag name displaying “Hampton/Willie,” and a light pink hard-sided roller bag with a SWA bag tag name displaying “Hughes/Toshel.” Officers located them once each bag was claimed and separately asked to search their luggage, to which they consented. During a search of Hughes’s light pink suitcase, they located 18 bundles of vacuum-sealed marijuana as well a small amount in her purse totaling 8,164.66 grams/18 pounds.

Toshel Dennesse Hughes of Mirror Avenue in Memphis, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on February 28th, charged with a felony drug offense. A judicial commissioner set her bond at $5,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave her pre-trial release from their facility.
