Lucas McClain strangles boyfriend underneath bridge on 8th Avenue

32-year-old Lucas McClain had an altercation with his boyfriend, Matthew Lee Harber, underneath the bridge on 8th Avenue South in the early hours of May 10th. Officers observed Harber in a prone position on the sidewalk outside Party Fowl without a shirt or shoes. Officers noticed Harber also had visible injuries on his neck, left shoulder, and elbow. Harber then stated that he and McClain argued over not having any cigarettes. During the argument, he said McClain “Raised his hand up like he was going to hit me, so I punched him three times on the head.” Then Harber said he was “taken to the ground by McClain, and he had his arms around my neck.” Harber added that McClain had physically abused him on several past occasions. When officers spoke with McClain, he stated that they had argued verbally, and when Harber started to walk away, he grabbed him. Harber then told them that he did not lose consciousness when McClain strangled him but threw all his stuff away and ran from him. Deputies located a couple also staying underneath the bridge, one of which was Renee Killburn, a witness. Killburn told officers that she had seen McClain “physically assaulting” Harber. McClain was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

Jeante Tate smashes girlfriend’s iPhone 15 after making fun of her work on Instagram

19-year-old Jeante Lashawn Tate had an altercation with his girlfriend, Monique Austin, on February 14th. Officers were dispatched to a Whispering Oaks Place residence, where they spoke with Austin, who stated she and Tate argued over him making fun of her work on Instagram. Austin said he then started taking all her clothes out of her closet. Austin stated when she tried to stop him, Tate pushed her head, grabbed her iPhone 15, and threw it on the floor, causing the screen to shatter. Austin said the phone cost over $1,000 and that her friend tried to intervene, which sparked a scuffle between them and Tate. A warrant was issued for Tate’s arrest that day. Tate was taken into custody for vandalism, domestic assault, and not having a valid driver’s license on May 9th.

Torrianna Finney & 10-year-old child caught stealing over $1,000 worth of items from Walmart

18-year-old Torrianna Finney was taken into custody for theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor on May 9th. Officers were dispatched to the Dickerson Pike Wal-Mart. They were advised that the loss prevention agents had a 10-year-old male, Finney’s boyfriend’s little brother, in custody for shoplifting over $1,000 of merchandise. When officers arrived, they spoke with the young male, who stated he was inside the store with his brother’s girlfriend, Finney, and provided them with her Tennessee ID. Then, Finney walked back into the store with his backpack on, and he pointed her out on camera. Officers located her and brought her to the loss prevention office. The cart that the 10-year-old had contained female clothes, body products, children’s toys, and other various items. Finney told them that she had put a few things into the cart, adding that she had lost sight of her boyfriend’s brother. Finney did not know he would try to leave with the cart. She then told officers that she did not have a way to pay for the merchandise. The 10-year-old told officers that he and Finney were putting items in the cart. Officers searched her bag and found two brand-new sports bras and watches. She was then detained for the occurrence.

Alarrion Oglesby flees police after stealing merchandise at Publix

22-year-old Alarrion Monique Oglesby and her brother stole merchandise from the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Publix on May 3rd. Investigators observed them walking out of the establishment with a full cart without paying. Her brother put the items into a gold Dodge Journey and entered the passenger seat with the window down. Officers approached and demanded they exit the vehicle and turn it off. Oglesby then put the vehicle in drive and sped out of the parking lot. Officers noted the license plate and later discovered it was registered to her. On May 8th, they spoke with Oglesby at her Smith Springs Road residence, where she stated that she drove a gold Dodge Journey and that she gave her brother a ride to go “shopping” a couple of days prior. Oglesby was taken into custody for theft and evading arrest on May 9th.

Vincent Gilmore fails to report car accident, says he “didn’t think to call the police”

30-year-old Vincent Gilmore was booked on the citation of failing to report an accident and leaving the scene of an accident on April 12th. Around 11:47 a.m. officers spoke with Gilmore, who called regarding him being involved in a car accident. Gilmore stated he was struck by an unknown white four door sedan that he did not get the information from. Gilmore added that he was “shaken up” from the experience and “didn’t think to call the police” at the time of the collision. He was then cited for the incident that day. Gilmore was later booked on the citation of failing to report an accident and leaving the scene of an accident on May 7th.

Dancer Matthew Boyd trespasses at Hillwood High School, says he was trying to help his dance team

19-year-old Dancer Matthew Ja’Terry Lamont Boyd was caught trespassing at Hillwood High School on April 15th. Officers responded to the school and spoke with security officer Austin Dubuc. Dubuc stated that Boyd had entered the property after being previously trespassed from it. Boyd told officers he knew he was not supposed to be on the property, adding that he was only there to help his dance team prepare for a competition. Boyd was then cited for the incident that day. Boyd was booked on the citation of trespassing on May 7th.

Matthew Stinson hits girlfriend several times because she “was not saying things he wants her to say”

34-year-old Matthew Chase Stinson had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Lilly Woods, on April 30th. Woods told officers that she and Stinson had argued about him telling her that she was “not saying things he wants her to say.” During the argument, Stinson became angrier and started hitting her several times, leaving bruises on her back. Stinson also reportedly bit Woods during the assault as well. Stinson was taken into custody for domestic assault on May 8th.

Owner of Walter Colson Paint and Body Shop indicted for death of kayaker on Percy Priest Lake

A Davidson County Grand Jury indicted 61-year-old Walter William Colson for vehicular homicide, aggravated assault leading to death, reckless endangerment, and reckless boating on April 24th, 2024. The indictment alleges that Colson, on the 29th day of April 2023 in Davidson County, Tennessee, recklessly killed Jaida Lindsay by the operation of a motorboat or vessel, the killing of Jaida Lindsay being the proximate result of Colson’s conduct.

On May 9th, detectives were conducting a warrant service on Colson, where they explained the situation to him, to which he replied, “I am not going with you today,” and started walking away. When detectives told him to stop and tried grabbing his arm, he pulled away, “puffed out” his chest, and began to move as if he was going to hit them with the tools in his hands. He was detained for the occurrence and was additionally charged with resisting arrest.
