Demarco Ellis ,19, jailed after possessing around 90 grams of marijuana and a .40 caliber pistol

19-year-old Demarco Ellis was seen trespassing with his 16-year-old co-defendant at the Hickory Ridge Apartments on June 23rd. The location’s property manager called the police after observing this. When officers arrived, they noticed a silver Nissan Altima with two occupants, later identified as Ellis and the minor. They observed the Altima backing into a parking spot with the two front seats reclined as if they were avoiding being found. Officers approached the driver’s side door and spoke with Ellis, during which they saw a green, leafy substance consistent with marijuana on his black hoodie. This led them to request Ellis to exit the vehicle. Once he got out, he admitted that there was marijuana inside a “blunt” in the center console. Officers detained them and searched the vehicle, resulting in them locating a small plastic bag with 1.9 grams of marijuana on the center console, a black Nike backpack on the floorboard with a plastic bag containing 89.7 grams of marijuana, and an empty .40 caliber pistol magazine, two wrappers, a vape, a scale, two 150-count boxes of sandwich bags, and two empty vacuum-sealed bags with marijuana residue in the trunk. The minor told officers, under Miranda, that he was with Ellis so they could smoke marijuana together. Ellis was taken into custody for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, felony possession, and underage tobacco possession.

20-year-old Imani Sharp was jailed on November 9th after police pulled her friend over. Loud music and the odor of marijuana were emitting from the vehicle. One out of three occupants handed over a black bag containing 32 grams of marijuana. The vehicle was then searched, and officers located several bottles of liquor and a larger bag of marijuana containing 112 grams inside a backpack behind the driver’s seat. All three subjects in the vehicle denied ownership of the backpack.

The vehicle was then searched, and officers located several bottles of liquor and a larger bag of marijuana containing 112 grams inside a backpack behind the driver’s seat. There were three occupants in the vehicle who all denied ownership of the backpack.

Jacob Yousief jailed for just over 1 ounce of marijuana during traffic stop

23-year-old Jacob Yousief was driving a black Infiniti traveling at 59 mph in a 40-mile-an-hour zone on Harding Pk. Wednesday, according to police. Officers conducted a traffic stop where they found Jacob’s license suspended and detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Three other people were in the vehicle and were asked to exit while being questioned about the smell. Jacob told the officers that they could search the vehicle, and they found a 29.5-gram bag of marijuana in the trunk. He said that it was meant for personal use, and the officer noted it was not separated into multiple baggies.

TSU: Trenton Jones sold marijuana to students from NRC campus apartment

22-year-old Trenton Jones was found with weed and paraphernalia by his apartment’s resident directors on August 30th. Police arrive at TSU’s NRC apartments to speak with the directors, Mr. Wynn and Ms. Lewis. They told police that they walked by Trenton’s apartment and smelled marijuana. They conducted a room inspection where they smelled marijuana emanating in front of Trenton’s room. Inside that room, they found 26 ounces of marijuana, a grinder, zip lock bags, black bags, multiple lighters, rolling papers, and a bong. This was enough to determine, reportedly, that Trenton was selling marijuana to other students. Trenton accepted ownership of all the items found in the room and confessed to selling drugs to other students.

Kedarius Itiat to police: “I’m high” while being arrested for DUI

20-year-old Kedarius Itiat was recklessly driving before police pulled him over and admitted to smoking three or four blunts before driving. Police noticed a Ford driving at a high rate of speed and almost collided with another vehicle. The Ford braked suddenly to keep from colliding with the vehicle, and the police officer made a U-turn to make a traffic stop. While in the middle of the road, Kedarius exited the vehicle and approached the officer. Kedarius told police he was driving so fast because someone had stolen his phone. Police described him as paranoid, with rapid speech and glossy eyes. He said that he had smoked three to four blunts in the previous hour, and police found 24.4 grams of marijuana as well as a digital scale in his center console. When police asked him to, police arrested him for DUI and felony drug charges due to the amount of marijuana found, suggesting he sells drugs. After refusing an evidentiary sample, police arrested him for a DUI, and he told police, “I’m high.”

22-year-old Keontae Burns had a TBI task force, DEA, and MNPD locate drugs and a fully automatic weapon in his home this week. The TBI Middle Tennessee Drug Related Deaths Task Force, DEA Tactical Diversion Squad, and MNPD Neighborhood Safety Unit showed up at an apartment on Old Hickory Blvd with a search warrant on June 14th. The house was Keonte’s, and inside, they found approximately 33.7 grams of fentanyl, 143 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, including digital scales, plastic bags, filters, inositol powder, and blenders. Also, a Glock 22 with a Glock switch making the .40 caliber weapon fully automatic, was found inside.

22-year-old Jamon Siler was one of three individuals inside a white Jeep Wrangler that were observed to be backed into two parking spots at an airport extended say hotel on Elm Hill Pike in the early hours of Thursday morning. Police described the vehicle as “completely filled with smoke” and, due to drug activity in the area, stopped to ascertain if they were guests of the hotel. As they approached the vehicle, it was apparent the smoke was from marijuana, which was also admitted by all three. Inside the vehicle, officers located a scale, sandwich baggies, tin foil with burnt residue, multiple CBD bags, 230 grams of marijuana in three separate bags, 12 grams of Fentanyl, 2.3 grams of crack cocaine, 8 grams of cocaine, and $3,700 in cash. All three requested their lawyers and were transported to booking to be processed. Officers seized all items, money, drugs, and phones.

Kaleb Tanner jailed after traffic stop yields 42 grams of marijuana

19-year-old Kaleb Tanner was jailed on March 21st after police found a felony amount of marijuana in a stolen Jeep Compass that he was driving down Gallatin Pike with a suspended license. The tags belonged to a tan 1996 Toyota Corolla. Tanner was the only one in the vehicle and immediately told officers there was marijuana inside. Officers could smell the marijuana and conducted a search locating a baggie of marijuana under the seat and two baggies in the center console totaling 42.65 grams of marijuana.
