Street Racer Micah Hooker jailed on rioting charges after weekend meetup

21-year-old Micah Hooker was one of two people charged this weekend as Metro police work to crack down on street racing across Nashville. Metro police reported Micah Hooker, and his passenger Bailee Nelson, sped away from a meet-up at a commercial parking lot on Corporate Drive Saturday night. Street racers reportedly practiced burnouts and other maneuvers in the Corporate Drive parking lot. A Metro helicopter crew tracked Hooker and Nelson as they drove a 2020 green Dodge Challenger, and Hooker turned his lights off in an unsuccessful effort to avoid officers. Hooker reportedly almost hit two other motorists head-on. Hooker made a brief stop, and Officer Hausman came up on the rear of the vehicle, which made Hooker turn his lights off again and flee. Officers eventually stopped Hooker and Nelson at the intersection of Hamilton Church Road and Hobson Pike. He was arrested and charged with felony reckless endangerment, felony evading arrest, driving on a suspended license, criminal trespassing, and rioting due to the dangerous vehicle maneuvers on Corporate Drive. Tyler Cobb jailed for ‘rioting’ after participating in May street racer gathering

22-year-old Tyler Cobb, who police say is a member of ‘Street Kings 615’ crew, was seen with his wife at an illegal street racing gathering organized by the ‘NightRiders’ crew on May 20th close to the BNA Airport. Police described him as a “slider” and said he is known as a street racer; he even once used a U-Haul truck to slide in. Tyler is also known to be an event organizer and was seen participating in the event with his wife, Destiny Hollis-Cobb. The event was at Airpark Center Drive East, where individuals stood in close proximity while Tyler was observed “sliding” at high rates of speed. The officer reported that the culture of these events is the bystanders are to “get back or get smacked,” placing them in immediate danger. Also, if the vehicles lost control of the vehicles at their high rates of speed in the crowd’s proximity, it could cause serious bodily injury or death. Due to the large gathering of people all participating in criminal offenses, the actions are constituted as “riots,” and that’s what Cobb was charged with. A multitude of warrants for those participating in the May meetup were issued on August 3, and Cobb was booked on his outstanding warrant on August 10.

Street Racer Down: Jermarion Brown charged after fleeing from MNPD — $84K bond

20-year-old Jermarion Brown faces a cornucopia of charges as he remains jailed in lieu of an $84,000 bond Monday. He was found hiding in the shower of a hotel bathroom Saturday morning, a room also occupied by two of his male friends. Police say they had noticed Brown driving a blue Dodge Charger 392 throughout the evening recklessly driving on Murfreesboro Pike. Hours later, they again located the car as it was in line to turn into a nightclub on the same road. As officers approached the car, which had no tag displayed, Brown placed the charger in reverse. Officers screamed “Don’t do it!” but that didn’t stop Brown from fleeing backward, going the wrong way on Murfreesboro Pike., nearly ramming a patrol car. He then drove through a grassy ditch as he lost control but eventually fled along Kermit Drive.

Officers did not pursue him but instead waited for him at a nearby hotel where the car had been seen earlier. Officers found the car, covered in fresh grass, parked at the hotel, and security directed them to the room, already knowing who they were searching for. Two friends answered the door and stated they were the only ones in the room. After a bit of back-and-forth, they finally admitted Brown was hiding in the shower. Brown said he ran because he “was scared,” but later said, “That was my car, but I wasn’t driving,” when they explained they had documented his reckless driving at five different scenes, including Airport Center Drive, where illegal car side shows were being held, along with street/intersection takeovers.
