Vandy Basketball Forward Lee Dort jailed & suspended from team for domestic assault

21-year-old Vanderbilt Men’s Basketball Forward Lee Dort reportedly assaulted and strangled his ex-girlfriend, Amani Foster, on the Vanderbilt Campus in the early hours of Sunday morning. Vanderbilt Police responded to a report of screams at 1:14 a.m. coming from a dorm room at McTyeire Hall. Foster told officers that 6’9″ Dort took her cell phone and shoved her against a wall and bedpost in her dorm room. He accused her of lying to him about her location during Thanksgiving and searched her texts and call logs on her phone. He says he discovered she was with someone else on Thanksgiving night. He then reportedly gripped her neck after she slid down onto the bed. Officers documented red marks and scratches on the victim. Dort initially fled the scene but was located at Memorial Gymnasium, where he was questioned about the incident. Vanderbilt Spokesperson Jacob Bell confirms Dort has been suspended from the basketball program pending the outcome of investigations by both the criminal justice system and the university.

Arthur Jay Gann says he’s “rich and will sue the police” who arrested him in downtown Nashville

33-year-old Texas Tourist Arthur Jay Gann repeatedly told Metro Nashville Police he would sue the officer and the department because ‘I’m rich,” as they placed him in the back of a patrol car in downtown Nashville Friday evening. Gann had been detained by security at the Lucky Bastard Saloon after being disorderly inside the bar and threatening security staff and officers with violence. He was extremely intoxicated and was transported to booking, despite his wishes otherwise. 

Nathan Justus charged with DUI on scooter in downtown Nashville

26-year-old Texan Nathan Justus crashed a scooter he was riding on 10th Ave South Wednesday night and was being treated by medics when Metro Nashville Police responded to the scene. Justus stated he was leaving a sushi restaurant where he consumed “one beer.” He then remembered that before the restaurant, he was on Broadway and consumed two shots of whiskey and two more beers. During the crash, he fell to the ground, hitting his head, arm, stomach, and knee, and while on the ground, he became light-headed and passed out. Despite all of that, Justus refused all medical transport and further treatment. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and was transported to booking, where he later blew a 0.089% BAC on a breathalyzer.

Mikey Stubblefield — too drunk to fly, three times, at Nashville Airport

39-year-old Mikey Stubblefield was denied boarding for this flight twice Saturday due to his extreme level of intoxication both times. He then attempted to make a third flight Sunday. While he was en route to his gate, Airport Police noted he was stumbling and could barely stand, and was once again extremely intoxicated. He was observed throwing his bag and stealing two sandwiches along his walk. Already knowing he was going to be denied at the gate for a third time, officers took him into custody for public intoxication after he stated he was from Texas and had no way to arrange any alternate travel or accommodations.

Texas Tourist Anea Simon boosts $89 shirt from Dillard’s at Rivergate Mall

36-year-old Anea Simon was jailed on April 15th for stealing a shirt from Dillard’s at Rivergate Mall. Police responded, and Dillard’s management removed merchandise from her purse that they saw her steal on camera. She was given a Notice of Trespass, and police watched the video evidence of her stealing a shirt that was valued at $89. Simon does not qualify for a citation as she is an out-of-state resident.

Tourist Michael Thompson charged in assault of girlfriend in Nashville

42-year-old Michael Thompson was jailed on April 16th for allegedly pushing his girlfriend, Bridgette Luckie, to the ground and kicking her in the stomach. Police responded to 2nd Avenue, where Luckie’s friend told them that she and her boyfriend, Michael Thompson, had been arguing and he was saying inappropriate things to Luckie and her friends. Luckie told police that her boyfriend said he was going to kill her child and was being aggressive with her friends, so she slapped him in the face, and he pushed her to the ground and kicked her. Luckie’s friend said she saw her slap Michael and then saw him push her to the ground, but she didn’t see him kick her. An employee from a nearby store told police they saw Luckie get pushed and kicked while she was on the ground. Police determined the physical reaction by Thompson was not equal to the slap made by Luckie, and both were taken to jail.

Tourist Bridgette Luckie charged in assault of boyfriend in Nashville

37-year-old Bridgette Luckie was jailed on April 16th for slapping her boyfriend in the face after he threatened to kill her child. Police responded to 2nd Avenue, where Luckie’s friend told them that she and her boyfriend, Michael Thompson, had been arguing and he was saying inappropriate things to Luckie and her friends. Texas Tourist Jeffery Soto charged with DUI after three vodka martinis in downtown Nashville

56-year-old Jeffery Soto says he drank three vodka martinis at a Broadway bar in downtown Nashville Friday night before getting behind the wheel of his vehicle with his wife as a passenger. An officer noticed him driving well under the speed limit on Interstate 40 just after 1 a.m., and he was crossing the lanes on the road. The officer initiated his emergency equipment, but instead of stopping, Soto drove one mile and then crashed into a retaining wall of exit ramp 52. He staggered out of the driver’s seat and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI.

DUI — Taylor Fields: “The tire fell off; it’s not there anymore; IT’S AN ISSUE!”

33-year-old Taylor Fields told police, “the tire fell off the car; it’s not there anymore… It’s an issue!” after they found him behind the wheel of his crashed car at 1 a.m. Sunday. The Texas tourist explained he was coming from Skull’s Rainbow Room in Printers Alley, where he had “two big Michelob Ultra beers.” He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

Tourist Ryon Buchman too rowdy for Union Station Hotel – arrested in Nashville

Security Staff at the Union Station Hotel in downtown Nashville were holding down 38-year-old Ryon Buchman on the lobby floor when Metro Nashville Police responded to their call for assistance late Sunday night. He was extremely intoxicated and became aggressive with security, which led to his detention. He was eventually taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.
